Role Overview

We are looking for a commercially sharp Supply Chain Finance Manager to serve as the finance business partner for manufacturing, co-packing, and logistics operations. The role demands robust plant-level experience with hands-on ownership of product costing, co-packer governance, inventory management across the supply chain network, wastage controls, and freight cost management. A key strategic responsibility will be transitioning co-packer models from Buy & Sell to an own-material APOB (Additional Place of Business) framework. Experience in the Food & Snacks / FMCG industry will be a distinct advantage

Role & responsibilities

1. Inventory Management Plants, Co-Packers & CFAs

- Own end-to-end inventory accounting and reconciliation across all nodes manufacturing plants, co-packer locations, and CFA (Carrying & Forwarding Agent) warehouses
- Monitor and report inventory ageing, slow-moving, and near-expiry stocks across the network; drive timely liquidation or write-off decisions
- Ensure accurate stock valuation at each node — raw materials, packing materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Conduct periodic physical verification audits at plants, co-packers, and CFAs; investigate and resolve variances
- Track and report inventory days (RM, WIP, FG) at each node and drive working capital optimisation
- Oversee CFA stock reconciliation — goods dispatched vs. received, returns, damages, and shortages; ensure timely settlement of CFA claims
- Set up inventory control frameworks and SOPs for co-packer and CFA locations

2. APOB Model Transition (Buy & Sell to Own-Material Co-Packing)

- Lead the finance workstream for transitioning co-packers from a Buy & Sell model to an APOB (Additional Place of Business / Job Work) model where the company owns the input materials
- Map the financial and tax implications of the transition — GST treatment on material supply, job work challan framework, e-way bill requirements, and input tax credit optimisation
- Redesign co-packer cost structures post-transition — from a finished goods purchase model to a conversion charge + material cost model
- Build the business case and financial impact analysis for each co-packer transition — working capital impact, costing implications, and P&L; effect
- Coordinate with legal, tax, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth implementation

- Establish new reconciliation and control frameworks post-APOB — material issued on job work challan vs. FG received, yield-based accountability, and returnable packaging tracking
- Ensure compliance with GST job work provisions (Section 143, ITC Rule 45) and maintain required documentation

3. Co-Packer Management & Reconciliation

- Act as the primary finance interface for all co-packing partners — own financial governance end-to-end
- Negotiate co-packing agreements — conversion charges, material supply terms, and performance-linked clauses
- Conduct periodic co-packer reconciliations — raw material issued vs. finished goods received, yield tracking, and short/excess reporting
- Review and approve co-packer invoices; ensure accurate accruals and timely settlements
- Perform co-packer audits to validate BOM adherence, actual yields, and billing accuracy
- Track co-packer performance metrics — output efficiency, rejection rates, and cost per unit trends

4. Product Costing

- Build and maintain standard cost sheets for all SKUs — own and co-packed
- Cost new product launches, pack-size changes, and reformulations in coordination with R&D; and Procurement
- Conduct monthly cost variance analysis — material price variance, usage variance, conversion cost variance
- Support pricing decisions and margin analysis with robust product-level costing
- Manage standard cost revision cycles — annual and mid-year — in ERP

5. Wastage Controls & Yield Management

- Design and implement a structured wastage tracking framework across plants and co-packers
- Monitor and report stage-wise wastage — input, in-process, packing, and dispatch
- Investigate variance between theoretical and actual yield; drive accountability with operations teams
- Quantify financial impact of wastage and set reduction targets in partnership with plant and quality teams
- Ensure accurate accounting of scrap, rework, and rejections in books

6. Freight Cost Management

- Own the freight cost — primary, secondary,

and inter-plant movements
- Track and report cost as % to GR / cost per kg / cost per km by lane, transporter, and channel
- Analyse freight invoices, validate against contracted rates, and flag overcharges
- Build freight budgets and rolling forecasts; report actuals vs. budget with variance commentary
- Partner with the logistics team on route optimisation, load efficiency, and transporter rationalisation to drive cost savings

7. Plant Finance & MIS

- Own plant P&L;
- Monitor capacity utilisation and its impact on per-unit fixed cost absorption
- Prepare and publish monthly Supply Chain Finance MIS — cost dashboards, co-packer scorecards, wastage reports, freight trackers, and inventory health reports
- Lead month-end close for manufacturing and logistics cost nodes
- Support S&OP; with financial inputs

8. Compliance & Internal Controls

- Ensure robust controls at plant, co-packer, and CFA level — GRN processes, material issue reconciliation, job work documentation, and invoice matching
- Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors for manufacturing and supply chain-related matters
- Ensure compliance with GST, job work provisions, e-way bill, and indirect tax requirements across all supply chain transactions

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: CA / CMA
- Strong command over product costing, standard costing, and BOM-based cost builds
- Demonstrated experience in co-packer financial management, reconciliation, and governance
- Prior exposure to or understanding of APOB / job work models and GST job work compliance will be highly preferred
- Hands-on experience in multi-node inventory management — plants, co-packers, and CFAs
- Proficient in freight cost modelling and logistics finance
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Advanced Excel
- Solid understanding of GST framework — job work provisions, ITC rules, e-way bill
- Strong stakeholder management — ability to work closely with plant, supply chain, procurement teams

Preferred Background

- Prior experience in Food, Snacks, Beverages, or FMCG manufacturing
- Exposure to multi-plant or co-packer heavy supply chain models
- Familiarity with CFA network management and secondary freight operations
- Experience with SAP, Excel and similar MIS/dashboard tools
