About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer with strong aptitude for mechanical engineering and maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Operation & maintenance of Coal Fired boiler, Utilities equipment and Tyre Curing section maintenance.

He will be responsible for planning day to day activities with support of section supervisors, carry out preventive & predictive maintenance of all equipment in the section, plan & carry out major maintenance activities including annual shut down maintenance of boilers and ensure continuous up time of equipment to achieve production as per schedule. Plan & arrange spare parts as per requirement and consumption, plan improvements/basic maintenance activities in department to improve MTBF, avoid repeated breakdowns, reduce MTTR of critical machines and ensure product quality by ensuring basic conditions of equipment & MTC adherence.

Key Responsibilities

- Operation & Maintenance of Coal fired boiler and all Utility systems.
- Maintenance of Tyre curing section equipment.
- Ensure 100 % production as per targets in all machinery in responsible areas by carrying out shift maintenance activities in optimum way.
- Plan & carry out PM activities as per schedule.
- Ensure lubrication of all machinery by continuous monitoring.
- Plan & carry out in house/external repair and reconditioning activities in department with available manpower and keep spares & subassemblies ready for use.
- Manpower management-Manage & control boiler operators and shift technicians to have safe maintenance practices, good housekeeping habits and ensure internal discipline.




- Report & escalate basic disciplinary violations on observation.
- Manage & develop recent technicians by on the job training with senior technicians.
- Have complete understanding of department production requirements and ensure synchronous maintenance activities with production team.
- Coordinate with peers in engineering department & other departments to avoid energy /material wastage, develop quality consciousness and energy saving habits in team.
- Escalate major maintenance requirement to department in charges on regular basis.
- Maintain department maintenance records as per IATF requirements, support documentation.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have): Basic Requirements.
- Familiar with AFBC boilers operation & maintenance.
- Familiar with Coal crusher, coal handling systems, ash handling systems , dust collectors, conveyors etc
- Understand of steam generation and usage equipment, Pressure reducing stations etc
- Familiar with Utility equipment operation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of Air compressors, Cooling towers, pumps, Water treatment system, RO plants etc.
- Familiar with basic mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
- Knowledge of maintenance of Air compressors, Chillers, Pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, Cooling Towers, Water treatment plants, RO plant etc.
- Understanding of pneumatic cylinder servicing, dismantling and assembly, seal kit replacement etc.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems, hydraulic power packs, hydraulic cylinder servicing, dismantling and assembly, seal kit replacement etc.

Good to Have requirements
- Familiar with Tyre curing presses-hydraulic/mechanical.
- Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic circuits, ability to read them for problem solving
- Soft skills: MS Office (Excel, word, Power point), AutoCAD
- Knowledge of IATF 16949, OSHAS 18001, ISO 14001 requirements.
- Familiar with Liasoning requirements with Pollution control board, Boiler inspectorate , Water authority etcRole & responsibilities
