We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – Industrial Engineering for an apparel manufacturing company. The role will be responsible for improving production efficiency, optimizing manpower and processes, setting production standards, and driving productivity improvement across the manufacturing unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Time & Motion Studies, method studies and work measurement for garment production processes.
- Establish and maintain SAM/SMV for different styles and operations.
- Analyze production processes and identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency improvement.
- Prepare line balancing and optimize manpower allocation across sewing and other production operations.
- Monitor line efficiency, capacity utilization, productivity and operator performance.
- Develop capacity planning and production targets based on style requirements and available resources.
- Conduct capacity studies for new styles and prepare manpower/machine requirements.
- Identify bottlenecks,
eliminate process losses and implement Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen / 5S initiatives.
- Work closely with Production, PPC, Quality and Merchandising teams to ensure smooth production.
- Analyze daily production and efficiency reports and take corrective actions.
- Support new style/product implementation, including operation breakdown and production feasibility.
- Maintain IE-related MIS, productivity reports and performance dashboards.
- Train and guide IE executives/officers and production teams on IE practices.
Preferred candidate profile
- Graduate / Diploma / B.Tech in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Textile Engineering or related discipline.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Industrial Engineering within the apparel/garment manufacturing industry.
- Strong hands-on experience in SAM/SMV, Time & Motion Study, Line Balancing and Capacity Planning.
- Good understanding of sewing operations and garment manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S and productivity improvement techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and IE-related software/tools.
- Should have valuable coordination and team-management skills.
