Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Assistant/Deputy Manager – Maintenance to manage preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities for plant machinery, utilities and electrical/mechanical systems in a food manufacturing environment. The role will ensure high equipment availability, minimum downtime, safety compliance and smooth production operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage mechanical, electrical and utility maintenance activities across the manufacturing plant.
- Plan and execute Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and breakdown maintenance.
- Ensure maximum availability and reliability of production machinery.
- Troubleshoot breakdowns and identify root causes to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain critical spare parts, consumables and maintenance inventory.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, EHS and other departments for maintenance requirements.
- Supervise and guide maintenance engineers, technicians and contract manpower.
- Monitor equipment downtime, MTBF, MTTR and maintenance-related KPIs.
- Prepare and maintain maintenance schedules, checklists, records and reports.
- Handle maintenance of conveyors, pumps, compressors, boilers, refrigeration/chilling systems,



packaging machines, processing equipment and utilities.
- Ensure proper functioning of electrical panels, motors, VFDs, PLCs, sensors and control systems.
- Coordinate with external vendors/service providers for specialized maintenance and AMC activities.
- Support installation, commissioning and modification of new machinery and equipment.
- Identify opportunities for energy saving, cost reduction and equipment improvement.
- Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, statutory requirements, GMP and food-industry standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure adherence to 5S, TPM and maintenance SOPs.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical & electrical maintenance.
- Hands-on experience in food processing/manufacturing plants.
- Knowledge of PLC, VFD, motors, pumps, compressors and industrial automation.
- Experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Good troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Knowledge of TPM, 5S, Kaizen and maintenance KPIs.
- Robust team-handling and vendor-management skills.
- Ability to work under production pressure and manage breakdown emergencies.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates from Food Processing, FMCG, Dairy, Bakery, Beverages, Snacks, Frozen Foods, Edible Oils or Packaging Manufacturing will be preferred.
