Role Description We are seeking a highly skilled Senior MongoDB DBA / Data Architect to support a strategic database modernization initiative involving the migration from Azure Cosmos DB (API for MongoDB) to MongoDB Atlas. The ideal candidate should possess strong database architecture expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to assess existing application and database environments while driving migration activities with minimal business disruption.

This role requires a proactive individual who can quickly learn recent technologies, take ownership of deliverables, and provide technical leadership throughout the migration lifecycle. successful migration from Azure Cosmos DB (API for MongoDB) to MongoDB Atlas, you will need a Senior-level DBA or Data Architect with 5 to 9+ years of experience Migrating out of Cosmos DB's emulation layer requires deep expertise because of fundamental behavioral differences. While both use MongoDB syntax, Cosmos DB enforces strict request unit (RU) rate-limiting, has a different aggregation engine pipeline behavior,



and handles indexing differently compared to native MongoDB Atlas. A junior or mid-level DBA might struggle with data type mismatches, indexing re-architecting, and avoiding downtime during the cutover.

Cosmos DB constraints: Awareness of Cosmos DB's specific limitations, such as maximum document sizes, different aggregation operators, and strict error handling (like 429 Too Many Requests). 2.
