FMCG Home Care sector (surface cleaners, air fresheners), a Formulation Development professional is responsible for creating and optimizing product stable formulations to ensure efficacy, safety, and cost-efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

- Product Innovation & Design : Develop current and innovative formulations for home care products based on NPD Brief from marketing. Participate in discussions with marketing for finalizing NPD brief (Formulations and Related activities)
- Performance & Stability Testing : Conduct laboratory trials, evaluation, and stability tests on finished products to ensure they meet quality and shelf-life standards. Also develop performance test methods to support the claims as per the NPD Brief
- Bench Marking : Regularly take up bench Bench Marking exercise with local and International competition products.
- Scale-up & Tech Transfer : Coordinate with manufacturing facilities to scale up laboratory prototypes to full-scale production batches. Responsible for making of Tech transfer documents
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all formulations comply with local and SCJ safety and environmental regulations (e.g., FDA or export market updates).
- Raw Material Management : Research, evaluate, and source raw materials and active ingredients from existing or new vendors. Knowledge and experience for testing of Raw material and Finished formulations.
- Participate in discussions with Fragrance and ingredient suppliers for new product and existing product development briefs.
- Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve formulation-related issues during the production process or post-launch.




- Work along with Packaging development for ensuring compatibility and dispensing of product developed for particular primary packaging
- Participate in discussions with marketing on consumer studies conducted.

Key Skills & Qualifications

- Technical Knowledge : Deep understanding of surfactants, builders, polymers, and fragrances specifically for home care applications. Strong formulation expertise and understanding of raw materials and chemical interactions.
- Experience and understanding of methodologies used to support product and new claims development
- Proven track record of successful delivery of technical projects in a FMCG company
- Laboratory Expertise : Hands-on experience with lab-scale development, analytical testing, and maintaining GMP/GLP standards.
- Process & Documentation : Strong understanding of product development process from concept to ideation stage.
- Proficiency in preparing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and technical reports.
- Skills: Excellent networking and communication skills to effectively liaise with cross-functional teams and to provide feedback to cross-functional , immediate supervisor
- Timely execution of multiple project objectives within established timelines
- Ability to display a degree of flexibility and adapt effectively to change
- Proven people management and people development skills
- Perform other assignments as delegated by immediate Supervisor
- Proficient with common software including MS Office Software applications
- Education : Post Graduate in Applied Sciences/M Pharmacy or B Pharmacy.
- From top four Universities or Institutes
- Experience: 6-8 years at an Executive level in competing company
