Responsibilities for AIX administrator

- Provide AIX operating systems support and ensure maximum performance and uptime for all AIX servers

- Analyze issues related to AIX and supporting software

- LVM: creation of file system, lv, and vg. Increasing of space of file system, identifying vg from file system etc

- User management: user creation, deletion and changing uids and gids. troubleshoot if any user facing any problem

- Paging space: creating and deleting and basics of paging

- Software management: installing & deleting of packages from the iso image

- Checking inconsistent filesets

- Installing and removing emergency fixes as and when required

- Migrating and patching of OS using NIM And VIOS

- VIOS: migration and patching of vios

- Taking mapping and rootvg backup of vios and lpar

- HMC: updating and upgrading the HMC

- Dump device: checking the dump device information and creating new dump device

- Hrdware management:Migration from power9 to power10

- Firmware upgrade of hardwares

- NIM server: configuring nim server, installing os using nim server and upgrading os using it

- Hands-on on Redhat 8 & 9

- Coordinate and support deployment of AIX supporting software,



and application related software upgrades/patches

- Maintain infrastructure software (GPFS, PowerHA, AIX 6.1, 7.1, and later, VIOS, PowerVM)

- Responsible for installing and managing IBM AIX systems

- Assist with the development of standards, guidelines and policies related to the design and architecture of Unix AIX solutions

- Build and support MBUSA Unix AIX server infrastructure, which entails the configuration of physical hardware and the deployment of Operating Systems consistent with the Companys policy and procedures

- Working with customers to troubleshoot incidents and escalate with L2 support if/when needed

- Lead technical discussions for new initiatives & solutions as per IT roadmap

- Review existing Infra landscape & look for chance to improve Qualifications for AIX administrator

- Capability of troubleshooting performance issues

- Solutions and results orientation

- Experience with IBM PowerVM, virtual servers, clustered servers, SAN and NAS connectivity, and global filesystems

- Experience with zLinux, HP Server Automation, Tripwire, and Centrify DirectControl is a plus

- HACMP • HMC/LPARs
