Founded by Dr. Gopal K Saxena — educationist, researcher, and visionary — The Gopal K Saxena Foundation supports rigorous scientific inquiry into emerging technologies that have the potential to transform how we learn, discover, and solve complex problems.

In Artificial Intelligence, the Foundation operates through the Gopal K Saxena Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research (GSCAIR) — an interdisciplinary research centre focused on advancing research in AI, robotics, machine learning, and education.

About the RoleWe are hiring AI Research Associates to build and conduct research at the Centre in two key areas:

Physical AI — robotics, autonomous systems, robot learning, perception, planning, control, and intelligent automation.

AI in Education — intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive learning, personalised education, educational assessment, and learning analytics.

As an early member of the research team, the Research Associate will take ownership of research within their chosen field, Physical AI or AI in Education. Their work will span the full research cycle, including literature review, identification of research problems, hypothesis development, experimentation, analysis, and publication.

The role requires strong technical foundations, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to work independently on open-ended research problems.

ResponsibilitiesResearch

- Conduct in-depth literature reviews and identify gaps in existing research.
- Formulate research questions and hypotheses.
- Design and conduct experiments in AI/ML, robotics, or educational AI.
- Develop and evaluate models, algorithms, and experimental systems.




- Collect, curate, and analyse research data.
- Reproduce and extend existing research where relevant.
- Maintain documentation and ensure reproducibility of experiments.

Research Output

- Prepare research papers, technical reports, and research documentation.
- Contribute to submissions to relevant conferences and journals.
- Present research findings internally and at academic forums.
- Contribute to the development of research methodologies and experimental frameworks at the Centre.

Collaboration

- Work with researchers across Physical AI and AI in Education.
- Participate in reading groups, seminars, research discussions and planned publications.
- Collaborate with academic institutions and external researchers as required.

QualificationsRequired

- B.Tech/B.E. or equivalent in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong foundations in mathematics, programming, and AI/ML.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Ability to read, understand, and critically analyse academic research.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in pursuing research in AI, robotics, or educational technology.

Preferred

- M.Tech/M.E. or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Prior research experience, including a thesis or substantial research project.
- Experience in machine learning, computer vision, NLP, reinforcement learning, robotics, or educational AI.
- Experience with research frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or ROS/ROS2.
- Research publications, preprints, or conference participation.
