Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Horticulture Specialist with strong expertise in commercial floriculture and vegetable cultivation. In this role, you will manage end-to-end production operations for high-value flower crops and fresh vegetables across open-field and controlled setting agriculture (greenhouses/polytunnels). You will focus on optimizing crop yields, maintaining quality standards, managing seasonal planting cycles, and implementing integrated pest and disease management.

Key Responsibilities

- Floriculture & Crop Management: Oversee the cultivation, deadheading, growth regulation, and harvesting of fresh-cut flowers, ornamental plants, and seasonal blooms.
- Vegetable Production: Plan and execute crop rotation, transplanting, direct seeding, and harvest schedules for diverse vegetable varieties ( leafy greens, root crops, fruiting vegetables).
- Controlled Environment & Field Operations: Manage microclimate parameters (temperature, humidity, light exposure) in greenhouses/shade houses as well as open-field plots.
- Nutrient & Soil Management: Conduct soil/media testing, formulate fertigation schedules, and maintain optimal pH and electrical conductivity (EC) levels for flower and vegetable health.
- Integrated Pest & Disease Control (IPM): Identify floricultural and vegetable pests/pathogens early; implement eco-friendly, biological, and target-chemical treatment plans.
- Post-Harvest Handling & Quality Control:



Oversee proper harvest timing, cold-chain storage, sorting, grading, and packaging of blooms and produce to maximize shelf life.
- Team Supervision & Operations: Direct daily field hands, train workers on proper harvesting techniques for delicate flowers and produce, and maintain safety standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Education: Degree or Diploma in Horticulture, Floriculture, Agronomy, or Agricultural Science.
- Experience: 3+ years of specialized experience in commercial flower farming, vegetable production, or greenhouse operations.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of plant physiology, floral propagation, vegetable harvest metrics, fertigation systems, and IPM for horticultural crops.
- Certifications: Licensed Pesticide Applicator or GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) certification is preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work extended hours outdoors/in greenhouses and lift harvest crates (up to 40 lbs).

Key Competencies

- Expertise in post-harvest handling for delicate flower cuts and fresh produce.
- Strong diagnostic skills for crop deficiency and plant pathology identification.
- Hands-on familiarity with drip irrigation, automated fertigation, and climate-control systems.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹15,080.56 - ₹30,000.00 per month
