Position: Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Merchandising (Woven)

Location: Bangladesh, Dhaka

Salary: USD 5,000 + Accommodation + Transport + Air Ticket

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

• Woven apparel manufacturing experience

• Strong experience in Woven Shirts & Tops

• Previous experience working within an apparel manufacturing / garment factory environment in Bangladesh

• Strong expertise in Costing, Buyer Management and Bulk Production

• Proven experience handling international buyers / brands

• Strong team management and commercial negotiation experience

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly driven AGM – Merchandising with strong Bangladesh apparel manufacturing experience and specialized expertise in woven products, particularly shirts and tops.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience within a Bangladesh-based apparel manufacturing setting, managing the complete merchandising cycle from product development and costing through bulk production and shipment. The role will focus strongly on costing strategy, buyer management, order execution, factory coordination and profitability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Costing & Commercial Management

• Lead product costing for woven shirts and tops

• Analyze fabric consumption, trims, washing and finishing costs

• Develop accurate CM / FOB / SMV-based costing

• Negotiate pricing with buyers while protecting margins

• Work closely with Sourcing, IE and Production teams to optimize costs

Order Execution & Bulk Production

• Manage end-to-end order execution from development through shipment

• Ensure T&A; adherence and timely approvals

• Monitor PP samples, size sets and other development requirements

• Closely monitor bulk production and delivery status

• Identify bottlenecks and implement timely corrective actions





• Coordinate with Merchandising, Production, QA and Logistics teams

Buyer Management

• Act as a key point of contact for international buyers

• Manage buyer requirements, negotiations, changes and escalations

• Build and maintain strong long-term buyer relationships

• Support business growth and repeat orders

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor the merchandising team

• Allocate styles and orders effectively

• Monitor team performance and delivery against timelines

• Drive accountability and continuous improvement

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Production, Planning, IE, QA, Sourcing and Procurement

• Ensure buyer requirements are aligned with factory capabilities

• Drive smooth coordination across all functions involved in order execution

Delivery & Compliance

• Ensure orders meet quality, compliance and delivery requirements

• Coordinate shipment planning and logistics

• Minimize delays, claims and commercial risks

• Ensure timely execution of all customer commitments

PRE-REQUISITES

• Minimum strong experience in Woven Apparel Manufacturing

• Woven Shirts & Tops experience

• Bangladesh apparel manufacturing experience

• Candidates from buying houses, buying offices, brands or retail organizations without hands-on Bangladesh apparel manufacturing experience should not be considered

• Strong experience in costing, merchandising and bulk production

• Proven international buyer / brand handling experience

• Experience managing high-volume orders and multiple styles

• Strong commercial and negotiation capabilities

• Prior team management experience

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Fashion Merchandising or a related field

• Professional qualifications in Merchandising / Supply Chain will be an added advantage
