Job Title: Hostess/Host

Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests. The ideal candidate will create a welcoming atmosphere, manage seating efficiently, and support smooth restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests promptly with a warm, friendly attitude
Manage the waitlist and accurately estimate wait times
Seat guests according to table availability and server rotation
Answer phone calls and take reservations
Maintain an organized and clean host/hostess stand and entrance area
Present menus and inform guests of specials or promotions
Communicate with servers and kitchen staff regarding seating flow and special requests
Address guest concerns or escalate issues to a manager when necessary
Assist with clearing, resetting, or bussing tables during peak times if needed
Monitor dining room capacity and coordinate with management for efficient table turnover




Handle to-go orders or coordinate pickups when applicable

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior experience in customer service or hospitality is a plus, but not required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask in a quick-paced workplace
Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
Positive attitude and professional appearance
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with reservation software (e.g., OpenTable, Resy)
Basic math skills for handling waitlists and payments (if applicable)
Bilingual abilities a plus, depending on location

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally (for menus, supplies, etc.)
Ability to stand for long periods and move quickly through the dining area
