Location: Remote (India) / Hybrid / Office

Shift Timing: Overlapping US Central Business Hours (for payer phone follow-ups) or Indian Business Hours with flexible evening overlap

Compensation: 6 Lakhs to 10 Lakhs INR per annum (50,000 to 83,000 INR per month), commensurate with cardiology experience and certifications

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, certified Medical Coder and Revenue Cycle Management Specialist to support an independent US cardiology practice based in St. Louis, Missouri. In this role, you will manage end-to-end clinical coding, payer credentialing, claim hold queues, and accounts receivable denial management using athenahealth.

Key Responsibilities

- Cardiology Medical Coding: Review clinical encounter notes and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes along with appropriate modifiers (such as modifier 25, 26, 59) for cardiology consultations, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitors, cardiac catheterization, and device interrogations.

- athenahealth RCM Management: Manage daily work queues, resolve claim hold buckets, correct clearinghouse scrubber rejections, and research complex payer claim denials.
- Provider Credentialing & CAQH: Maintain and update provider CAQH ProView profiles, complete re-attestations every 120 days, submit initial enrollment applications for commercial and government payers, and track primary source verification to network effective status.
- Payer Follow-Up & AR Resolution:



Contact US insurance payer provider-relations and claims departments to appeal erroneous denials, clarify medical necessity guidelines, and maintain practice accounts receivable under 35 days.
- Compliance & Data Privacy: Maintain strict compliance with US HIPAA privacy and security regulations while handling protected health information.

Required Experience and Qualifications

- Experience: Minimum of 4 to 6 years of direct US healthcare revenue cycle experience, with at least 3 years focused on outpatient cardiology and cardiovascular procedural coding.

Required Certifications:

- Active certification from AAPC or AHIMA (Certified Skilled Coder, Certified Coding Specialist, or Certified Cardiology Coder).
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on working experience inside athenahealth (athenaCollector and athenaClinicals) or similar major US EHR platforms.
- Credentialing Knowledge: Proven familiarity with CAQH ProView, Medicare PECOS or 855 applications, and commercial payer enrollment workflows.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and spoken English skills to draft formal appeals and communicate directly with US payer representatives.
