Role Overview

Protiviti is expanding its Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations practice. We are seeking a hands-on, technically rigorous Senior Consultant / Lead Technical Consultant to drive enterprise ERP implementations, complex third-party integrations, and cloud migration initiatives.

This role requires a practitioner who looks beyond standard configurations and custom forms to build enterprise-grade architectures. You will be responsible for low-level X++ solution development, Azure integration pipelines, Data Management Framework (DMF) operations, performance forensics, and automated DevOps deployments across global engagements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Core Development & Technical Architecture

- Design and build enterprise-grade extensions using contemporary X++ practices (Chain of Command, Event Handlers, Delegates) strictly adhering to extension frameworks with zero overlayering.
- Develop, customize, and extend Application Object Tree (AOT) components, including tables, data entities, views, queries, forms, menus, and business logic classes.
- Support and execute legacy code and schema migrations from Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 / AX 2012 R2/R3 to D365 F&O; using LCS code upgrade tools and structural refactoring patterns.
- Build, customize, and optimize complex SSRS reports, electronic reporting formats, and SysOperation framework batch jobs.

2. Enterprise Cloud Integrations

- Design, implement, and maintain decoupled, secure integration architectures using the Microsoft Azure stack: Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, and REST/OData APIs.




- Configure and maintain Dual-Write and virtual entity frameworks to synchronize master and transactional data seamlessly between D365 F&O;, Microsoft Dataverse, and Power Platform applications.
- Build high-performance file-based and real-time recurring data integrations connecting third-party banking, logistics, tax engines, and external SaaS platforms.

3. Data Migration (DMF) & Cutover Governance

- Build and maintain custom Data Entities, composite entities, and staging tables via the Data Management Framework (DMF/DIXF) for high-volume data operations.
- Execute data cleansing, transformation mapping, validation scripts, and delta loads across DEV, UAT, and Production tiers.
- Plan and support cutover sequencing, mock runs, rollback strategies, and hypercare support during go-live phases.

4. Performance Forensics & System Optimization

- Conduct diagnostic root-cause analysis on system latencies, batch deadlocks, long-running queries, and integration timeouts.
- Profile system performance using Trace Parser, SQL Server Profiler, and LCS environment monitoring tools to implement query and indexing tuning.
- Enforce set-based database logic (insert_recordset, update_recordset) and thread-level parallel processing within batch jobs.

5. ALM, DevOps & Environment Management





- Manage source control and release management in Azure DevOps (TFVC/Git), enforcing branching strategies, build validation pipelines, and structured code reviews.
- Perform package builds, releases, and environment maintenance across multi-box topologies (DEV, BUILD, TEST/UAT, PROD) using Lifecycle Services (LCS) and Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC).
- Implement and maintain automated regression test scripts using the Regression Suite Automation Tool (RSAT).

Candidate Qualifications & Criteria

Criteria Minimum RequirementRelevant Experience

Minimum 4 years of direct, hands-on technical development experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O; / AX 2012. (Total IT experience: 5 to 8 years).

Implementation Exposure

Participation in at least 1 to 2 full-lifecycle D365 F&O; implementations or large-scale AX-to-D365 migration projects.

Integration Knowledge

Hands-on experience developing integrations using Azure Logic Apps, REST/OData web services, Service Bus, or Dual-Write.

Diagnostics & Tools

Practical working knowledge of Trace Parser, SQL profiling, LCS Environment Monitoring, and Azure DevOps ALM pipelines.

Education

B.E. / B.Tech / MCA / BCA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related engineering discipline.

Mandatory Certification

Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365: Finance and Operations Apps Developer Associate (MB-500).

Desirable Certifications

Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Solution Architect Expert (MB-700), Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900), or Power Platform Solution Architect (PL-600).
