RoleL3 BMC Helix Discovery ConsultantExperience8-12+ Years of ITSM, CMDB, Discovery, Infrastructure Management, and BMC Helix Discovery (BMC ADDM/Atrium Discovery).Job SummaryThe L3 BMC Helix Discovery SME will be responsible for the design, administration, optimization, troubleshooting, and governance of the BMC Helix Discovery platform. The role will ensure accurate CMDB population, discovery coverage, infrastructure visibility, service mapping, and platform stability while working closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, Network, Security, and ITSM teams. Responsibilities include handling complex technical issues, platform upgrades, discovery tuning, integration management, and vendor coordination.Key ResponsibilitiesPlatform AdministrationAdminister and maintain BMC Helix Discovery appliances and environments.Perform platform configuration, health monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.Manage discovery schedules, scan ranges, credentials, and access controls.Ensure platform availability and operational readiness.Discovery Operations & OptimizationDesign and optimize discovery patterns and scanning strategies.Troubleshoot discovery failures, scan issues, credential problems, and access-related exceptions.Improve discovery coverage across Datacenter, Cloud, Virtualization, Containers, and Network environments.Analyze discovery gaps and implement corrective actions.CMDB & Data Quality ManagementEnsure accurate discovery data synchronization with CMDB.Investigate and resolve CI reconciliation issues and duplicate CI creation.Drive CMDB data quality improvement initiatives.Validate CI relationships and service mappings.
