Network Core OAM Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Network Core OAM Engineer with strong hands-on experience in C++ and Linux and expertise in OAM/FCAPS development for 4G/5G telecom networks.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining OAM functionality for telecom network elements and distributed 4G/5G Core or RAN environments.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop OAM functionality for 4G/5G Core and Radio Access Network products.
Develop and maintain OAM/FCAPS subsystems, including Configuration, Fault and Performance Management.
Work on OAM architecture, design and software development using C++ on Linux.
Develop management interfaces and functionality for telecom network elements.
Work with NETCONF, YANG, REST/JSON and related network management technologies.
Develop and integrate OAM functionality in distributed/containerized architectures.
Work with Kubernetes/OpenStack based telecom environments.
Debug and resolve complex software issues using Linux debugging tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for design, development, integration and maintenance activities.
Contribute to software design, code reviews, testing and production issue resolution.

Required Skills




Solid hands-on C++ programming
Solid Linux programming/development experience
Hands-on experience in OAM / OAMP / FCAPS
Experience in 4G/LTE/5G telecom networks
Valuable understanding of OAM architecture and design
Experience with Configuration Management, Fault Management and/or Performance Management
Knowledge of NETCONF and YANG
Experience with telecom management interfaces such as O1 / M-Plane is an advantage
Knowledge of REST APIs / JSON
Understanding of Kubernetes/containerized environments

Positive to Have
Experience with ConfD / Sysrepo / Netopeer
Experience with OpenStack
Experience with O-RAN / 5G RAN / 5G Core
Experience with MME, SGW, PGW, AMF, SMF, UPF or gNB/O-DU/O-CU
Knowledge of telecom FCAPS architecture
Experience with debugging tools such as GDB/Valgrind
Exposure to AI-assisted development tools

Educational Qualification

Graduate / BE / B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA or equivalent technical qualification.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have a combination of:

C++ + Linux + 4G/5G Telecom + OAM/FCAPS

Experience with NETCONF/YANG, O1/M-Plane, Kubernetes and ConfD/Sysrepo will be an added advantage.
