Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities
Evaluate and diagnose patients with suspected or confirmed cancer.
Review patient history, laboratory investigations, pathology reports, imaging, and biopsy results.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on cancer type, stage, and patient condition.
Prescribe and supervise:
Chemotherapy
Immunotherapy
Targeted Therapy
Hormonal Therapy
Palliative and Supportive Care
Monitor patient response to treatment and modify plans when required.
Manage side effects and complications related to cancer therapy.
Provide follow-up care and long-term monitoring.
Procedures and Patient Care
Conduct OPD consultations and inpatient rounds.
Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, risks, and expected outcomes.
Coordinate multidisciplinary tumor board discussions.
Refer patients for surgery, radiation therapy, or other specialties when required.
Manage emergency oncology situations such as:
Febrile neutropenia
Tumor lysis syndrome
Spinal cord compression
Hypercalcemia
Severe chemotherapy reactions
Documentation and Administration
Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
Document diagnosis, treatment protocols, consent, and progress notes.
Ensure proper chemotherapy protocols and patient safety standards are followed.
Participate in departmental audits, NABH documentation, and quality initiatives.
Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.
Qualifications
MBBS with MD DNB in General Medicine, Radiation Oncology, or Pediatrics.
DM DrNB in Medical Oncology.
Valid medical registration with the National Medical Commission State Medical Council.
