Summary/Objective: The Open Text Extended ECM for Engineering Consultant will be responsible for designing, configuring, and managing a Open Text Extended ECM platform tailored for engineering stateflows with a heavy focus on the ECN/FCN process. This role will collaborate directly with engineers across many functional areas and serve as the primary liaison between the engineering team and the Open Text support team. The ideal candidate is a technical expert in Open Text solutions with a strong understanding of engineering processes and enterprise architecture. While this is a remote position, it is required that the candidate be fully available between 9am and 5pm EST on all US working days. Also, the candidate must be able to pass Federal background checks as required by NERC/FERC regulations. Key Responsibilities

- Solution Design: Architect and implement Open Text Extended ECM for Engineering solutions to support engineering document management, project execution, and asset lifecycle processes.
- Workflow/ Stateflow Optimization: Design and configure state-based workflows to automate document reviews, approvals, and change management processes.
- Technical Leadership: Provide expertise on content repository setup, metadata management, security frameworks, and scalability to meet business needs.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to enable secure collaboration between internal engineering teams and external partners via Business Workspaces and secure file-sharing tools.
- Performance Monitoring: Leverage dashboards and analytics to monitor system performance, workflow efficiency, and project progress, recommending improvements as needed.
- Documentation & Training:



Develop technical documentation and provide training to end-users and IT teams on system capabilities and best practices.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Experience:

- 8–12+ years of experience supporting enterprise ECM platforms.
- 5+ years of hands-on Open Text Content Server AMS/support experience.
- Experience working in AMS or managed services environments with ticketing systems and SLAs.
- Experience supporting Open Text Extended ECM (xECM) or SAP-integrated environments.
- Experience supporting Open Text Archive Center, Core Capture, or VIM.
- Knowledge of authentication/SSO integrations (LDAP, AD, SAML).
- Open Text certifications are a plus.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience with Open Text ECM solutions, including Content Server and Extended ECM. Must have experience with xECM for Engineering version 22 or higher.
- 3+ years working with engineering document management or asset lifecycle processes.
- Expertise in Open Text Content Server architecture, including repository configuration, workflow design, and Smart UI customization.
- Proficiency with Web Reports for custom development and reporting.

Soft Skills:

- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. This will be a client facing position that interacts with Engineers, Managers, and Directors daily.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Open Text certifications (e.g., Open Text Content Server Administrator, Extended ECM Specialist).
- Background in industries such as energy, manufacturing, or construction.
- Knowledge of security standards (e.g., TLS/SSL, AES-256) and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with Azure Dev Ops and Scaled Agile processes.
