Role Description The Organic Compost Expert is a full-time remote role responsible for guiding and optimizing composting practices across partner farms and projects. Day-to-day tasks include assessing existing compost systems, designing improved composting processes, and providing technical advice on organic waste management and soil health. The role involves developing training materials, conducting virtual workshops, and supporting farmer capacity-building in sustainable composting methods. The Organic Compost Expert will also collaborate with the research team to test compost formulations, document best practices, and contribute to knowledge resources for organic agriculture.



Regular communication with farmers and internal stakeholders is essential to ensure practical implementation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of composting techniques, organic waste management, and soil health, including practical experience in on-farm or commercial compost systems.
- Experience in sustainable or organic agriculture, agroecology, or related fields, with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical guidance for farmers.
- Skills in training, facilitation, and curriculum development for farmer education, including creating explicit instructional materials and delivering online sessions.
- Research and documentation skills, including data collection, analysis, and reporting on compost performance, environmental impact, and field results.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with proficiency in remote work tools and the capacity to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant academic background such as a degree in agriculture, soil science, environmental science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and continuous learning in organic and regenerative farming practices.
- Experience working with rural communities or farmer organizations in India or similar contexts is an advantage.
