Job Description:

Responsible for leading the engineering team that delivers, supports, and continuously enhances warehouse and distribution center technology solutions across the enterprise. This role provides strategic and technical leadership for the design, development, integration, deployment, and support of warehouse management systems, warehouse automation platforms, and related supply chain technologies. The Sr. Manager, Engineering partners closely with IT, Supply Chain Operations, Product Management, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure teams, business stakeholders, and external technology vendors to deliver scalable, reliable, and innovative solutions that enable effective, stable, and high-performing distribution center operations.

As a first-line people leader, this role is accountable for engineering delivery, operational excellence, solution quality, production support, and the growth and development of a high-performing engineering organization. The successful candidate combines strong software engineering expertise with proven leadership experience in complex enterprise environments, including warehouse management and automation technologies. They provide technical direction, influence architectural decisions, establish engineering standards and best practices, and ensure solutions are secure, resilient, scalable, and aligned with enterprise technology strategies. Exceptional communication, collaboration, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to foster a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and customer-focused delivery that supports business priorities and operational objectives.

Position Title: Senior Manager Engineering

- Partner with on-shore Warehouse Operations and Automation Sr Managers, Product, Architecture, Data Science, UX, and Business teams to translate priorities into executable plans for warehouse operation and automation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, labor productivity, inventory accuracy, and automation utilization.
- Support new distribution center implementations, automation deployments, and system upgrades
- Track milestones, dependencies, risks, capacity, and delivery metrics, and drive timely resolution of issues that affect execution.
- Provide technical guidance through design reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering standards without acting as the sole solution architect.
- Champion engineering excellence, agile delivery, automated testing, code review, continuous integration and delivery, observability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure application availability, performance, resiliency, security, and modularity across the portfolio.
- Drive responsible adoption of Al-assisted engineering tools, including GitHub Copilot or similar capabilities, to improve developer productivity, code quality, test automation, documentation, and delivery velocity.
- Communicate delivery status, trade-offs, risks, and outcomes clearly to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Experience and Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, enterprise applications, or supply chain technology and 5+ years leading effective development teams that are both technical and functional.
- Experience supporting Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and warehouse automation technologies.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale Supply applications, APls, integrations, and
- distributed systems.




- Proven ability to deliver against project schedules and timelines with quality.
- Demonstrate ability to proactively manage key objectives.
- Understand AI technologies, with experience leading engineering teams that develop and support AI-driven solutions. Ability to provide guidance, remove obstacles, facilitate sound technical decision-making, and ensure successful delivery of business value while maintaining appropriate security, governance, and operational standards.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage technology budgets, project financial plans, and resource forecasts. Responsible for ensuring engineering initiatives are accurately estimated, appropriately staffed, and delivered within approved budget, timeline, and scope commitments while maximizing business value and operational outcomes.
- Ability to build team and maintain positive working relationships of the team across the company.

- Ability to work on multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously.

Preferred Experience

- Deep understanding of warehouse operations including receiving, put away, replenishment, inventory management, wave planning, order fulfillment, packing, shipping, labor management, and transportation integration. Direct experience with Manhattan WMS.
- Experience supporting automated distribution centers and material handling systems.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain system integrations, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and their interaction with Replenishment, Order Management, and Transportation Management systems
- Experience working with distributed teams and partner or vendor resources.
- Experience in supply chain, inventory management, replenishment, supplier
- collaboration, warehouse operations, forecasting, or order management.
