About the Role

We are building Purvapaksha, a media project focused on the untold history of world religions, civilizations, philosophy, and geopolitics.

We are looking for an analytical thinker and compelling storyteller to write research-heavy, documentary-style video scripts (12–20 minutes / 2,000–3,000 words). You will be responsible for digging into primary sources, structuring engaging arguments, and writing scripts that keep viewers hooked from the first five seconds to the end.

What You Will Do

- Deep Research: Sift through historical texts, academic papers, archival material, and geopolitical analyses to uncover untold narratives and accurate timelines.
- Draft Long-Form Scripts: Write structured, narrative-driven scripts in English (or conversational Hinglish) with sharp hooks, mid-video retention loops, and explicit chapter beats.
- Visual Direction for Editors: Include scene directions, visual cues (e.g., [Map animation: Roman expansion], [Archival photo: 1971 war]), and reference links directly inside the script to guide the video editor.
- Fact-Checking & Sourcing: Maintain reference sheets to ensure historical and factual accuracy.

Who We Are Looking For

- Background: Arts, History, Political Science, International Relations, Journalism,



or actively preparing for UPSC/Civil Services (the research rigor aligns well with syllabus prep).
- Narrative Sense: You understand YouTube retention dynamics—why people click, why they drop off at minute 3, and how to pace a 15-minute argument without fluff.
- Source-Driven Mindset: You go beyond surface-level Wikipedia summaries to find compelling anecdotes, overlooked perspectives, and primary documentation.
- Strong Writing Voice: Conversational, authoritative, and cinematic—writing for the ear, not an academic textbook.

Deliverables & Commitment

- Output: 3 to 5 completed scripts per month (approx. 2,000–3,000 words each).
- Format: Remote / Flexible hours.
- Compensation: Per script ( 2,500 – 6,000 per approved script depending on depth).

How to Apply

1. Send a brief intro highlighting your background and why world history/geopolitics excites you.
2. Share 1–2 writing samples (past video scripts, long-form essays, Substack pieces, or detailed analytical threads).
3. Pitch one video topic you would write for Purvapaksha: include the working title, the 30-second hook, and a 3-bullet outline.
