Key Responsibilities

- System Architecture: Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency MAC schedulers, RLC, and PDCP protocols for LTE and 5G NR.

- Subsystem Integration: Oversee L2 interactions with L1 (PHY), L3 (Control Plane), and OAM subsystems across 3GPP RAN split architectures.

- Optimization & Debugging: Drive system performance tuning for QoS mapping, DRX, HARQ efficiency, and logical channel prioritization.

- Program Leadership: Lead large-scale L2 development, sustenance, and customer support across vRAN, O-RAN, and proprietary eNB/gNB variants.

Required Qualifications

- Experience: 12+ years in 4G/5G L2 software development with a track record of driving complex engineering programs.

- 3GPP Standards:



Complete mastery of 3GPP L2 specifications (36.series and 38.series) including MAC, RLC, PDCP, and L2 measurements.

- Scheduling & QoS: Expert-level knowledge of eNB/gNB MAC scheduling algorithms, TDD/FDD timing implications, and QoS flow-to-bearer mapping.

- Software Engineering: Proficient in C/C++, Python, state machines, memory pooling, and Linux kernel/user-space performance tuning.

- Acceleration & Tools: Experience with DPDK, SmartNIC/DPU offloads, SR-IOV, Wireshark, Viavi, Spirent, and QCAT log analysis.
