Role Overview

We are looking for an Application SRE Engineer with strong experience in Java application performance engineering, troubleshooting, JVM tuning, and Linux administration. The candidate should have prior Java application development/support experience and be able to identify and resolve complex performance and reliability issues.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and troubleshoot Java application performance and reliability issues.
- Perform JVM tuning and optimize application runtime performance.
- Analyze Heap Dumps to identify memory leaks, excessive memory usage, and OutOfMemoryError issues.
- Analyze Thread Dumps to identify deadlocks, thread contention, blocked threads, and high CPU issues.
- Perform GC analysis and recommend appropriate garbage collection tuning.
- Analyze Java code and provide performance optimization recommendations to development teams.
- Analyze and tune application and database configurations for improved performance.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
- Work closely with developers, database teams, and infrastructure teams to resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot application issues without relying solely on APM tools such as Datadog, Splunk, etc.
- Support application reliability, scalability, availability, and capacity planning.
- Participate in incident management, problem management, and continuous improvement activities.

Mandatory Skills
- 7+ years of experience in Java/application support, performance engineering, or SRE.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java application performance troubleshooting.
- Expertise in:
- Heap Dump Analysis
- Thread Dump Analysis




- JVM Tuning
- Garbage Collection (GC) Analysis
- Memory/CPU troubleshooting

- Positive understanding of Java code and application architecture.
- Ability to provide Java performance tuning recommendations to developers.
- Strong understanding of application and database configuration tuning.
- Ability to troubleshoot application performance issues using Linux/JVM diagnostic tools, without depending on APM tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
