Role & responsibilities

- Review and validate prescriptions for appropriate drug, dose, route, frequency, and duration.
- Dispense medicines accurately to inpatients and outpatients.
- Check medication orders for potential drug interactions, duplications, allergies, contraindications, and dosing issues.
- Provide medication-related information and counseling to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of dispensing, controlled medicines, narcotics, and other regulated medications as applicable.
- Monitor pharmacy inventory, including stock levels, expiry dates, storage conditions, and batch details.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines, including temperature-sensitive and high-alert medications.
- Participate in medication reconciliation and support clinical pharmacy activities where applicable.




- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication-related issues.
- Report medication errors, adverse drug reactions, and other medication-safety concerns according to hospital procedures.
- Follow hospital SOPs, infection-control requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Support pharmacy audits, accreditation activities, and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
