Key Responsibilities
Program Strategy and Portfolio Ownership
- Own the strategic direction of assigned programs and program constructs across domains, not limited to any single category or technology area.
- Identify new program opportunities based on market trends, learner demand, business potential, competitive gaps, employer needs, and industry relevance.
- Define robust program constructs, including target audience, learner problem, positioning, learning outcomes, curriculum direction, hands-on components, credentialing approach, delivery model, and career relevance.
- Build a clear point of view on which programs should be launched, refreshed, expanded, repositioned, or sunset.
- Ensure each program has a compelling learner value proposition, differentiated market positioning, and sound business rationale.
Market Sensing and Product Innovation
- Continuously track emerging trends across professional learning, technology, business, leadership, digital transformation, and high-growth career domains.
- Study competitor programs, university offerings, bootcamps, certification trends, job market signals, employer demand, and learner behavior.
- Convert market insights into practical program ideas, product upgrades, specialization tracks, workshops, electives, or new learning formats.
- Identify whitespace opportunities where Simplilearn can create stronger, sharper, and more market-relevant offerings.
- Prepare product concept notes, opportunity briefs, and strategic recommendations for leadership review.
Business Viability and Gross Margin Thinking
- Design program constructs with a clear understanding of revenue potential, pricing logic, cost structure, delivery format, and gross margin expectations.
- Evaluate whether a proposed program can be delivered within the required commercial guardrails without compromising learner value or quality.
- Assess the business implications of key product decisions such as live class hours, faculty model, partner involvement, tool/lab requirements, projects, mentoring, support layers, and delivery intensity.
- Build product recommendations that balance learner outcomes, market demand, differentiation, scalability, and gross margin.
- Ensure that new programs are not only academically or technically strong, but also commercially sustainable.
Learner Experience and Product Health
- Maintain oversight of learner experience indicators such as NPS, CSAT, refunds, engagement, completion, escalations, and qualitative feedback.
- Use learner experience and business metrics as early warning signals to identify programs that need strategic intervention.
- Diagnose root causes behind poor learner experience, high refunds, weak engagement, margin pressure, or declining product-market fit.
- Recommend corrective actions to improve program quality, learner outcomes, perceived value, commercial health, and market competitiveness.
- Work with relevant teams to ensure issues are addressed without directly owning day-to-day delivery operations.
Program Refresh and Competitive Relevance
- Regularly evaluate existing programs to ensure they remain current, differentiated, commercially sound, and aligned with market expectations.
- Identify when a program needs a curriculum update, positioning refresh, structural change, project upgrade, tool update, delivery model change, or stronger industry alignment.
- Ensure programs do not become stale in fast-changing markets.
- Benchmark Simplilearn programs against leading competitors and identify ways to match or surpass market standards.
- Drive strategic thinking around program modernization, portfolio relevance, and long-term business value.
Product and Business Judgment
- Evaluate whether a program construct has enough demand, clarity, differentiation, learner value, and commercial potential before recommending it for launch or scale.
- Build business rationale for new and existing program decisions.
- Prioritize opportunities based on learner impact, revenue potential, margin viability, strategic fit, feasibility, and urgency.
- Bring a structured, data-backed, and market-informed approach to product decision-making.
- Think beyond the curriculum by considering the full product construct: market need, learner promise, delivery model, economics, competitive positioning,
and learner outcomes.
Cross-Functional Strategic Collaboration
- Collaborate with curriculum, academic partnerships, industry experts, product leadership, marketing, sales, delivery, and operations teams at the right stages of the product lifecycle.
- Provide strategic direction and product context to teams responsible for execution.
- Align stakeholders around the learner problem, market opportunity, product construct, commercial logic, and intended business outcome.
- Present product insights, market findings, program recommendations, and portfolio improvement plans to senior stakeholders.
