Deloittes Business Tax – Direct Tax team helps businesses meet their income tax and statutory reporting requirements while providing advisory services on various domestic tax matters. The team supports clients in navigating complex tax regulations, managing compliance obligations, and addressing tax-related challenges through practical and effective solutions.

Your Role

As an Assistant Manager in the Direct Tax team, you will build and nurture strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders while delivering quality tax advisory and compliance services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in tax advisory assignments, including conducting in-depth research on technical tax matters and interpreting relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare tax opinions, short notes, and email responses on day-to-day client tax matters.
- Manage tax compliance activities, including income tax return filings, withholding tax statements, advance tax computations, income tax provisioning, and other statutory filings such as SFT.
- Assist in tax assessment and litigation proceedings before assessing officers, income tax authorities,



and appellate forums.
- Draft responses to audit notices, questionnaires, and other communications from tax authorities.
- Support representation before tax authorities for assessments, rectifications, and other tax-related proceedings.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and enabling teams to ensure smooth execution of assignments and timely delivery of client requirements.

Key Skills and Qualifications

- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 0 to 2 years of experience in Direct Taxation.
- Strong technical knowledge of direct tax laws and regulations.
- Valuable analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication, drafting, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Leadership qualities, a proactive approach, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Strong follow-up skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
