Function: Data & Information Architecture

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Information Architect with strong expertise in Data Architecture and Data Modelling. The role will be responsible for defining how enterprise information is structured, related, governed, and consumed across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data environments.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models and working with business, data engineering, architecture, and governance teams in a banking/financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Define enterprise information and data architecture aligned with business and technology requirements.
- Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Define data entities, attributes, relationships, hierarchies, domains, and information flows.
- Architect information across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.
- Analyse complex banking data and translate business requirements into scalable data structures.
- Define data taxonomy, metadata, data classification, and information standards.
- Support data integration across applications, databases, APIs, data lakes, warehouses, and downstream platforms.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Data Governance, Product, Business, and Technology teams.
- Define and document data lineage, ownership, and relationships between critical data elements.
- Ensure data architecture supports analytics, reporting, AI/ML, regulatory, and business requirements.
- Contribute to data governance and enterprise data management initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve enterprise data structures.

Technical Skills

Data Modelling & Architecture

- Solid hands-on experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.




- Enterprise data architecture and information architecture.
- Data domains, entities, attributes, relationships, hierarchies, and taxonomy.
- Data lineage, metadata, data classification, and data governance.

Data Technologies

- - Strong SQL and relational database concepts.

- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar databases.
- Understanding of NoSQL databases and distributed data platforms.
- Experience with Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Lakehouse architectures.
- Good understanding of JSON, XML, Avro, Parquet, CSV and other data formats.
- Exposure to APIs and data integration patterns.

Cloud & Data Platforms

- Experience with one or more of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Exposure to Snowflake, Databricks, or equivalent data platforms.
- Understanding of Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, or similar big-data technologies is an advantage.

Data Governance & Metadata

- Exposure to tools such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Microsoft Purview, or equivalent.
- Understanding of data catalogue, metadata management, lineage, and data quality. Modelling Tools
- Experience with ER/Studio, Erwin Data Modeler, SAP PowerDesigner, or equivalent tools.

Domain Experience

- Strong experience in Banking / Financial Services.
- Understanding of banking data domains such as Customer, Account, Product, Transaction, Payments, Loans, Cards, Risk, and Regulatory data is preferred.
- Experience working with complex enterprise data environments and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

- 9–10 years of relevant experience in Data Architecture, Information Architecture, or Data Modelling.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
