We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Engineer/Senior Database Architect to design, implement, and manage our data architectures and database platforms across GCP and Azure. You will collaborate with software, systems, and DevOps engineers, in partnership with business, analytics, software, and data science teams, to influence the architecture of our key data platforms while balancing operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization.

In this role, you will contribute to our technology roadmap and architectural improvements to our InfoSec, data platform, and disaster recovery/business continuity plans, support strategic data migration and modernization initiatives, and own the day-to-day operations, tuning, and optimization of our production database systems.

What You Will Do As A Senior Database Engineer

- Collaborate with software, systems, and DevOps engineers in designing and implementing data architectures and data computing platforms in partnership with business, analytics, software, and data science teams.
- Influence the architecture of our key data platforms while balancing operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization.
- Contribute to our technology roadmap and implement architectural improvements to our InfoSec, data platform, and disaster recovery/business continuity plans.
- Contribute to strategic projects by migrating or transforming data stores in support of recent project requirements.
- Support day-to-day operations of our data systems and information security initiatives and projects; define, sustain,



and implement data engineering processes and best practices; tune, maintain, and optimize production systems.
- Build and maintain a self-healing database platform using AI-based observability and monitoring tools (e.g., native cloud-provider monitoring, or equivalent).
- Support our initiatives for modernizing/centralizing our database footprint in partnership with business, analytics, software, InfoSec, and data science teams.
- Provide support to the engineering team on database operations (SQL Server, PostgreSQL), including writing and tuning SQL scripts, creating database objects, and troubleshooting performance and connectivity issues.
- Manage, patch, upgrade and monitor PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases running on GCP (Cloud SQL) and Azure (Azure Database for PostgreSQL and Azure SQL Database / SQL Server on Azure VMs), including backup, recovery, and high-availability / disaster-recovery configuration.
- Design, manage, and monitor our BigQuery data warehouse in GCP, including schema design, query optimization, and cost/slot management.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Support CI/CD workflows for database changes, ADF pipelines, and infrastructure deployments (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps).

What You Will Bring As A Senior Database Engineer
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Systems Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering and/or database administration,



with hands-on ownership of production database platforms.
- Demonstrated proficiency in creating data structures and a strong understanding of technical design principles.
- Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Compute Engine, and Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL and SQL Server) in GCP.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure SQL Database, and/or SQL Server on Azure VMs.
- Experience with database high availability, disaster recovery, backup/restore, and performance tuning (e.g., Always On Availability Groups, point-in-time recovery, replication).
- Working knowledge of version control and CI/CD tooling (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, Cloud Build).
- Working knowledge of Azure Data Factory, SSIS / SSRS in Azure and Dataflow/Dataproc in GCP.
- Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders and partners.
- Experience working with Agile or similar methodologies preferred.
- Experience supporting AI/ML platforms and integrating AI-powered data tools.
- Unix scripting experience required, along with a willingness to learn/support technologies you may not presently know.
- Proven experience working with US based business teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language.
- Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST) overlap.
- Working Hours: 8 Hours (Excluding breaks); 4 Core US Hours Overlap (7:30pm-11:30pm IST); 4 flexible hours (IST).
- Workspace: A quiet, dedicated space to work, and a reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 50 Mbps.
