Purpose/Objective

To lead and manage end-to-end procurement activities for the cement plant, ensuring timely availability of materials, spares, equipment, consumables, and services at optimum cost while maintaining quality, inventory efficiency, and compliance with company procurement policies.

Key Responsibilities of Role

1.
Procurement Management - Lead procurement of MRO, O&M; spares, consumables, services, CAPEX items, and indirect materials.
- Ensure uninterrupted material availability for plant operations.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives.
2.
Vendor Management - Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers.
- Conduct vendor negotiations for price, delivery, payment terms, and contracts.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and periodic reviews.
- Build strategic partnerships with critical vendors.
3.
Inventory & Cost Control - Ensure optimum inventory levels without impacting plant operations.
- Monitor slow-moving and non-moving inventory.
- Work closely with stores and maintenance teams for inventory optimization.
- Drive procurement savings and budget adherence.
4.
Contract & Commercial Management - Manage annual rate contracts,



service contracts, and procurement agreements.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and audit requirements.
- Resolve commercial disputes and supplier issues.
5.
Stakeholder Coordination - Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mining, Production, Logistics, and Finance teams.
- Support shutdown planning and major maintenance procurement requirements.
- Ensure timely procurement for plant projects and expansion activities.
6.
Team Leadership - Lead and develop the plant procurement team.
- Establish procurement KPIs and monitor performance.
- Train team members on sourcing strategies and procurement best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification - B.
E.
/B.
Tech (Mechanical/Electrical) preferred.
- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Materials Management is desirable.
Experience - 15-20 years of experience in procurement within Cement, Steel, Power, Mining, or Heavy Manufacturing industries.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing plant procurement operations.
