About the role:

Duet STEM is hiring an AI & Robotics R&D; Engineer to design, prototype and productise hands-on robotics and AI solutions for STEM education and real-world learning. This is an end-to-end product development role for someone who enjoys building working systems from concept to tested prototype.

Key responsibilities:

- Design and develop humanoid robots, robotic arms, grippers, autonomous vehicles and educational robotics kits.

- Build AI features including computer vision, object detection, speech or language interfaces, intelligent control and sensor-based decision making.

- Create mechanical parts and enclosures in Fusion 360, SolidWorks or similar CAD tools; prepare parts for 3D printing and rapid prototyping.

- Integrate motors, servos, sensors, cameras, batteries, motor drivers and microcontrollers.

- Write clean Python and C/C++ code using Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi and ROS/ROS2 where appropriate.

- Work on drone and autonomous platform prototypes with safe, controlled testing.





- Debug hardware-software integration, document designs, improve reliability and support small-batch product development.

Required experience and skills:

- 2 to 5 years of hands-on robotics, AI, embedded, automation or product development experience.

- Solid programming ability in Python and C/C++; practical AI/ML and computer vision experience.

- Experience with robotics hardware, CAD, 3D printing, sensors, actuators and rapid prototyping.

- Portfolio of working robots, AI projects, drones, robotic arms, humanoid prototypes or similar products.
