Mechanical Maintenance Executive

JOB DESCRIPTION - MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE EXECUTIVE Job Purpose

To ensure reliable operation of plant machinery and equipment through preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance, minimizing equipment downtime and supporting safe and effective production operations.

Reporting To: Maintenance Manager / Engineering Head

Key Responsibilities

1. Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.
2. Maintain equipment such as pumps, compressors, reactors, agitators, centrifuges, gearboxes, blowers, pipelines, valves and utility equipment.
3. Troubleshoot mechanical failures and identify root causes of recurring breakdowns.
4. Carry out routine inspection of machinery and identify abnormal conditions such as vibration, leakage, overheating and unusual noise.
5. Coordinate with Production and other departments for maintenance activities and equipment shutdowns.
6. Maintain maintenance records, equipment history and breakdown reports.
7. Ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance schedules.
8. Handle maintenance of rotating and static equipment.
9. Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance activities.
10. Maintain adequate stock of critical mechanical spare parts and coordinate with Stores/Purchase for requirements.
11. Assist in installation,



commissioning and modification of mechanical equipment.
12. Ensure proper lubrication and condition monitoring of machinery.
13. Follow safety procedures and permit-to-work / LOTO requirements during maintenance activities.
14. Support root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
15. Prepare maintenance reports and update equipment maintenance checklists.
16. Ensure maintenance activities are carried out as per applicable SOPs, safety requirements and company procedures.
17. Support audits and provide required maintenance records and documents.
18. Perform any other maintenance-related duties assigned by the reporting manager.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance
- Preventive and breakdown maintenance
- Knowledge of pumps, compressors, gearboxes, agitators and valves
- Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Knowledge of rotating and static equipment
- Basic knowledge of fabrication and welding activities
- Maintenance planning and documentation
- Spare-parts management
- Strong safety awareness

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 2-5 years of relevant maintenance experience
- Experience in manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical or process industries will be preferred
- Willingness to work in shifts
- Ability to handle breakdown situations and maintenance activities independently
