Job Summary
This is an excellent opportunity to pursue a career in designing and developing new products within a successful and growing multi-national business. The post holder will report to a Senior Design Engineer who provides local project oversite / co-ordination with the wider global project team.
The successful candidate will be degree educated mechanical engineer with a background of drawing, modelling and analysing mechanical components manufactured in a varied range of materials.
Job Key Responsibilities
- Use Autodesk Inventor, Nastran, AutoCAD,
Vault and other engineering analysis tools to model, draw and analyse component properties to ensure optimum design solutions are developed.
- Liaise with other engineering teams and cross functional departments to ensure that all areas of the business are successful.
- Implement & action engineering change orders
- Providing design and technical engineering support for legacy products.
- Requirements
- 2 - 3 years’ experience designing and developing new products in a multi-national company workplace (MNC).
- Good understanding of general manufacturing techniques and an appreciation of their requirements when designing and generating new product specifications.
- Good mechanical engineering aptitude with the ability to visualise and develop robust manufacturable design solutions.
- Extensive working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, Nastran, AutoCAD and Vault to draw, model and analyse components and assemblies.
- Specifying and applying of ISO GPS (GD&T;) controls
- Experience of using and maintaining engineering ERP data; preferably Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software.
- Experience of working in a matrix organisation with cross functional project teams.
- Ability to work independently to agreed deadlines.
- Ability to interact and share knowledge with people at all levels of responsibility.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & Kannada.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor or Master’s degree level in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
Target Industries & Experience
- Products with a strong mechanical engineering bias which includes components which are manufactured utilising aluminum & bronze castings, steel forgings, steal fabrications and precision turned components.
- Familiar with working in a MNC
