Purpose of the Role
The Extruder Operator is responsible for the secure and efficient operation of extrusion equipment to produce high-quality compounded materials in accordance with production schedules and quality standards. The role ensures optimal machine performance, product quality, process control, safety compliance, and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor extrusion and pelletizing equipment according to established SOPs.
- Set up extrusion lines, including machine parameters, feeders, dies, screens, and downstream equipment.
- Monitor and control process parameters such as temperature, pressure, screw speed, feed rates, and output.
- Ensure products meet quality specifications through regular inspections and sampling.
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to minimize downtime and production losses.
- Perform startup, shutdown, grade changeovers, and cleaning activities as per procedures.
- Maintain accurate production records, process logs, and shift reports.
Education:
- Diploma in Plastics Technology / Polymer Technology from CIPET.
- B.E./B.Tech in:
- Polymer Technology
- Plastic Technology
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in extrusion operations, polymer compounding, engineering plastics, or plastics processing.
