Key Responsibilities

- Inspect and verify all incoming raw materials, chemicals, pigments, additives, resins, solvents, packaging materials, and other purchased materials.
- Conduct incoming quality inspection and testing as per approved specifications, test methods, and sampling plans.
- Verify supplier COA (Certificate of Analysis) against internal quality requirements.
- Ensure proper sampling, identification, labelling, and traceability of incoming materials.
- Perform laboratory testing using appropriate instruments and equipment.
- Compare test results with approved specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Release, hold, or reject incoming materials based on quality test results.
- Prepare and maintain Incoming Quality Inspection Reports (IQIR) and related QC records.
- Raise non-conformance reports for materials that do not meet specifications and coordinate with Purchase/Supplier Quality for corrective action.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and identify recurring quality issues.
- Coordinate with Stores, Purchase, Production, R&D;, and other departments regarding material quality and disposition.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of QC samples and retain samples.
- Maintain calibration status and proper use of laboratory testing instruments.
- Follow established SOPs, quality procedures, safety requirements, and documentation practices.
- Support internal audits, supplier audits, and quality improvement initiatives.




- Participate in investigation of material-related quality issues and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records and reports.

Skills & Qualifications

- Qualification: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, B.Tech./M.Tech. in Chemical Technology, or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in QC/QA, preferably in Paints & Chemicals industries.
- Strong knowledge of Incoming Quality Control (IQC) procedures and raw material testing.
- Valuable understanding of chemical raw materials, pigments, resins, additives, solvents, and packaging materials.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory testing and QC instruments.
- Good knowledge of specifications, sampling procedures, COA verification, and test methods.
- Knowledge of NCR, RCA, CAPA, 5 Why, and basic quality management practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and quality documentation systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to make quality-based decisions independently.
