Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the Client Group
Client is a growing automobile dealership group with interests across automotive retail, Hospitality, Real-estate and
allied businesses. The Group is expanding through a combination of organic growth and new dealership opportunities.
We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the group to build and lead the Group's finance
function and partner with the promoters in driving profitable, disciplined and sustainable growth.
The CFO will be responsible for financial and accounting governance across the Group while also playing an active role
in business planning, capital allocation, banking relationships, working capital management, profitability
improvement and expansion decisions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Group Financial Strategy

Develop and execute the Group's overall financial strategy aligned with business growth plans.
Work closely with the promoters and leadership team on business planning and financial decision-making.
Build financial models for new dealerships, new OEM opportunities, acquisitions and expansion projects.
Evaluate ROI, IRR, payback period, breakeven and cash-flow implications of major investments.
Support promoters in capital allocation across dealerships and business verticals.
Develop long-term financial plans supporting the Group's growth ambitions.
2. Financial Planning & Analysis

Set and own the Group's annual budgeting and business planning process.
Establish monthly, quarterly and annual financial targets for individual dealerships.
Develop dealership-level P&L;, balance sheet and cash-flow forecasts.
Track actual performance against budget and identify deviations.
Provide actionable financial insights to the promoters and business heads.
Develop profitability analysis using all revenue streams.
Identify opportunities for margin improvement and cost optimisation.
3. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

Own the Group's cash-flow planning and liquidity management.
Optimise working capital across dealerships.
Establish daily/weekly cash visibility for the Group.
Ensure sufficient liquidity for operations, expansion and debt servicing.
Develop early-warning mechanisms for cash-flow stress.

4. Banking & Treasury
Build and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions.




Lead negotiations for working capital facilities, inventory funding, term loans, bank guarantees, letters of credit,
and project finance

Manage Group-level banking limits and borrowing structure.
Optimise cost of borrowing and financing mix.
Monitor interest costs, repayment schedules and covenant compliance.
Evaluate financing structures for new dealership projects and acquisitions.
5. Dealership Financial Management
Establish a standardised financial management framework across all dealerships.
Monitor key financial and operating metrics including Revenue, Gross margin, EBITDA, PBT, Cash conversion, Inventory
days, Receivable days, Payable days, Working capital, Floor-plan utilisation, Service absorption, Stock margins, Stock
ageing, Discounting, Incentives, and Finance & insurance income.
Work closely with dealership heads to understand the business drivers behind financial performance, rather than only
reporting accounting numbers.
6. MIS & Management Reporting
Build a robust Group-level MIS system providing promoters with a clear view of business performance.
Develop Daily cash-flow MIS, Weekly business dashboard, Monthly management accounts, Dealership-wise P&L;,
Consolidated Group P&L;, Budget vs actual analysis, Cash-flow forecast, Working-capital dashboard, Inventory ageing
reports, Debt and banking dashboard, OEM incentive tracking, Capex tracking
Ensure that management reporting is accurate, timely and decision-oriented.
7. Accounting, Controls & Compliance

This is a key parameter, to oversee accounting and financial reporting across the Group.
Ensure timely closure of monthly and annual books.
Establish strong internal financial controls.
Ensure compliance with GST, Income Tax, TDS, Companies Act, Statutory audit requirements, OEM financial
requirements, Banking and financing covenants.

Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax advisors and consultants.
Establish appropriate approval matrices and financial controls.
Prevent financial leakage, fraud and control failures.
8. Audit & Risk Management

Lead statutory, internal and tax audits.
Identify financial and operational risks across dealerships.




Develop risk mitigation frameworks for the Group.
9. New Dealerships & Expansion
The CFO will play a key role in evaluating and executing expansion opportunities. Responsibilities include:

Financial feasibility of current OEM dealership proposals.
Site and facility investment analysis.
Working-capital requirement estimation.
Project financing.
Post-investment performance tracking.

10. Business Partnership
The CFO is expected to be a business partner to the promoters, not merely the head of accounts. Work closely with the
leadership team across internal and external functions. Translate financial data into clear business decisions and
proactively highlight opportunities, risks and corrective actions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must Have

Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA Finance, 1520+ years of relevant experience.
Significant experience in automobile dealerships or Inventory based industries like Hospitality, Healthcare or
Retail.

Strong understanding of dealership P&L; and working-capital dynamics.
Proven experience managing banking relationships and large working-capital facilities.
Strong financial modelling and business planning skills.
Strong understanding of statutory and tax compliance.
Experience working directly with promoters / founders / boards.
