Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP FI/CO Consultant to provide independent, client side oversight of the SAP FI/CO work delivered by the implementation vendor on an automotive OEM manufacturing engagement. This is an advisory and quality assurance role, not a hands-on build/configuration role. The consultant will review the implementation vendor's configuration and design deliverables, independently test developed functionality, and advise the client on best practices, risks, and issues working alongside the client's finance/controlling stakeholders within a multi-vendor delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Independently review the implementation vendor's SAP FI/CO configuration and design decisions GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, Tax, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, and COPA for completeness, correctness, and alignment with SAP best practices
- Independently test developed FI/CO functionality design and validate test scenarios, execute test cases, and confirm results against business requirements (separate from the vendor's own unit/SIT testing)
- Review FI/CO integration touchpoints with MM, SD, and PP as built by the vendor, validating correctness of cost flows, postings, and settlements
- Identify configuration gaps, defects, design flaws, or deviations from best practice in the vendor's FI/CO build, and document findings clearly and actionably
- Advise the client on SAP FI/CO best practices, alternative design approaches, and risk mitigation for issues identified
- Support client governance activities: deliverable/milestone review, UAT sign-off criteria, and go-live readiness assessment for FI/CO scope
- Participate in design reviews, defect triage, and issue resolution discussions with the vendor and client teams, representing the client's interests
- Prepare clear, client-facing status reports,



review findings, and recommendations
- Proactively escalate risks and unresolved issues to client and project leadership

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)

- 5+ years of hands-on SAP FI/CO configuration/implementation experience across both FI (GL/AP/AR/AA) and CO (CCA/PCA/Product Costing/COPA), including at least 2 full-cycle implementations this technical foundation is required to credibly review and advise on another team's work
- Demonstrated experience in an independent review, QA, testing, or client-side advisory capacity — distinct from a pure hands-on build/configuration role
- Proven ability to critically assess another team's SAP configuration and design work against best practices, and to identify gaps, risks, and deviations
- Prior experience in automotive, discrete, or process manufacturing (OEM or Tier 1/2 supplier background strongly preferred)
- Robust understanding of FI/CO integration with MM, SD, and PP, sufficient to validate cross-module design and postings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to explain technical issues and recommendations clearly to client business stakeholders
- Professional objectivity and diplomacy — comfortable raising issues with an implementation vendor's work constructively in a multi-vendor environment
- Strong documentation skills for review findings, test results, and status reporting

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

- Prior experience specifically in an SAP QA, Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V;), or client-side advisory role
- SAP S/4HANA experience (Universal Journal, Central Finance)
- SAP FI or CO certification
- Material Ledger / Actual Costing experience
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards (VDA, supplier EDI/IDoc flows, JIT/JIS impact on costing and settlement)
- Intercompany accounting experience across multi-plant/multi-entity manufacturing structures
- Warranty provision/accrual accounting experience
- Exposure to embedded analytics, BW/BI, or other FI/CO reporting tools
- Experience supporting global template rollouts across multiple plants or legal entities
