Role & responsibilities

- Dispense medicines as per doctors prescription.
- Verify prescription, dosage, frequency, and medication details.
- Check drug expiry dates, batch numbers, and storage conditions.
- Maintain adequate medicine stock and inventory records.
- Monitor and manage near-expiry and expired medicines.
- Maintain records of controlled/scheduled medicines as per applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with doctors and nurses regarding medication-related queries.
- Provide basic medicine information and usage instructions to patients.
- Ensure proper labeling and packaging of medicines.
- Maintain pharmacy records, bills, and documentation.
- Follow hospital pharmacy policies, infection-control practices, and safety procedures.
- Support stock audits and periodic physical verification.
- Coordinate with purchase/store departments for timely replenishment of medicines.
- Report medication errors, adverse drug reactions, or discrepancies to the appropriate authority.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of the pharmacy.
