Job Description for Embedded Firmware Engineer

Educational Qualification: Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Electronics / Electrical / Computer science Engineering or equivalent.

Experience: 1-6 years of experience in a desired skillset.

Skill set:

- Experience in following:
- Hands-on expertise in Embedded C & RTOS based firmware development
- Knowledge of main MCU distributors like STM, Infineon Aurix and Renesas (with focus on main MCU families involved in motor control application)
- Knowledge regarding tools to manage firmware repository

[like GIT or SVN]

- software unit test, software integration test, verification & validation test and Automated testing
- Python, writing test scripts to automate the testing
- Capability to design a FW architecture starting from the application requirements
- Good understanding of Schematics design, Sensor interfaces, Motor drives, Microcontroller and Microprocessor
- Documentation, Positive experience with tests specifications, planning, implementation and reporting
- Good communication and Strong presentation skills
- Strong knowledge in Inverters (VFD Drive) and its applications
- Strong Knowledge in C++, CUnit etc is recommended

Important Tools:



IDE [like Keil/IAR or STMCubeIDE], Debugger [like J-Link], Emulator, Logic analyser, GIT/SVN, Jenkins

Role & Responsibilities:

- Responsible for Firmware development for Inverters for various applications, such as pumps, fans, conveyor belts, packaging, textile, material processing, food & beverage, woodworking and warehouse applications.
- Test and validate Inverter products
- Build Automated test setups, functional test setups for Inverters & motors
- Perform basic product testing on firmware-based projects at the module, integration and functional level
- Execution of product firmware test plans
- Develop and maintain test automation procedures and scripts for the inverter projects , both Python and Test Automation Framework
- Work closely with Global R&D; teams, Cross functional teams of Bonfiglioli India and other global plants for new conceptual and VAVE initiatives
- Responsible for prototyping and testing
- Identify, monitor and closure of issues and risks
- Perform Root cause analysis on product problems, with emphasis on software/firmware product support
