Job Summary
We are looking for experienced Application Engineering professionals with strong expertise in Bearings, Automotive Applications, Drive Train Systems, New Product Development and Technical Problem Solving.
The role will involve working closely with Automotive OEMs, Tier-1 customers, R&D;, Quality and internal Product Development teams to understand application requirements, develop optimized bearing solutions, support new product development and resolve technical issues.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in bearing application engineering, bearing design/development, automotive systems, modelling & simulation, customer technical support and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage technical relationships with Automotive OEMs and Tier-1 customers, particularly with R&D;, Engineering and Quality teams.
- Understand and document customer application requirements for new projects and translate them into technical requirements for internal R&D; and product development teams.
- Develop and evaluate bearing and drivetrain applications for automotive and industrial systems.
- Perform bearing selection, application calculations, load analysis, stress analysis, life calculations and performance evaluation.
- Work on bearing and drivetrain modelling and simulation using Romax or similar engineering simulation software.
- Interpret simulation results and evaluate different design alternatives to identify the optimum technical solution.
- Support new product development (NPD) and engineering changes for customer projects.
- Work with R&D; teams on bearing design, product development and application-specific solutions.
- Prepare and present technical proposals to customers covering application concept, design criteria, product features and performance expectations.
- Participate in APQP, PPAP and product development activities for new customer projects.
- Investigate customer complaints and performance issues through Root Cause Analysis, 8D, problem-solving and Gemba-based analysis.
- Support bearing installation, returned-part analysis and field technical problem solving.
- Coordinate with internal R&D;, Quality, Manufacturing, Testing and Sales teams for effective resolution of customer issues.
- Represent Orbit Bearings in customer meetings, technical seminars, exhibitions and engineering discussions.
- Support business development by identifying opportunities for current applications, redesign and value-added technical solutions.

EV / Electric Vehicle drivetrain exposure will be an added advantage.
Education
Mandatory: B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
Preferred: M.Tech / M.E. in Mechanical Engineering / Design / Automotive / Machine Design or related specialization
Candidates should have a strong academic background.
Experience
4–8 years of relevant experience in:
Application Engineering + Automotive Engineering + Bearing / Drivetrain Components + New Product Development
Candidates with relevant experience from Automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, Bearing manufacturers or Drivetrain component companies are encouraged to apply.
