Job Title: Optical AIT (O-AIT) Technician Duration: Full-time Location: Sahakarnagar, Bengaluru

Qualification: Technical/professional diploma in Mechanical, Optics, or similar with 3+ yrs of relevant experience in integrating optical systems

Job Responsibilities





- Collaborate with mechanical/opto-mechanical team in the definition of optics integration and alignment approach for Astrogates laser communication systems Incoming inspection of devices, optical parts and components Integrate opto-mechanical sub-assemblies and other sensor modules Carry out optical alignment of components and assemblies, conduct optical alignment tests with collimators, measure system performance
- Collaborate with System Engineers & Opto-mechanical team for the definition of test plans, test cases and procedures for optical subsystem testing at various integration levels Support definition of quality metrics and acceptance procedures and criteria
- Collaborate with Avionics, Opto-mech & AIT teams for integration of full laser communication terminal Collaborate with Opto-mech, procurement team, for manufacturing of PCBs and managing inventory of electronics components & packages and other electrical/ electronic components Conduct functional and system level tests to validate subsystem & system reliability across different models
- Participate in environmental testing including thermo-vacuum, vibration, shock tests & launch campaign support Maintain accurate records of test results, generate comprehensive test reports, and ensure traceability of hardware and test configurations and Report non-conformance, troubleshot and resolve issues effectively in a team setting
- Maintain all optical assembly tools & measurement equipments

Required Skills/Experience





- Sound understanding of optical systems and properties used in precision alignment of optical subassemblies, use of shims, spacers etc

- Understanding of optical components: Lenses, Filters, Mirrors, Apertures, field stoppers, pinholes, waveplates, beam-splitters etc.
- Good understanding of GD&T; practices and engineering drawing standards Proficiency in CAD design tools, SolidWorks preferred Knowledge of elastomer & adhesive curing, alignment techniques, and optical handling.
- Good ability to read optical and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with metrology tools: Interferometer, Collimator, beam profilers Desired Skills/Experience Prior experience working in a cleanroom environment with knowledge of contamination control protocols and cleanroom standards Good understanding of mechanical engineering and the operation of environmental test equipment (e.g., thermal vacuum chambers, shaker tables).
- Certification in areas related to Optical AIT of satellite systems from ISRO etc.
- Experience assembling satellite/ defense optical systems with micron-level precision Ability to converse in Kannada will be an added bonus
