Role: Senior Platform Engineer (Production Infrastructure)

Location: Ahmedabad

About the role:

This is a senior, hands-on role owning production infrastructure for a platform that serves customers worldwide. You will share responsibility for production cover, releases, and incident response, and will help design and improve the platform rather than only operate it. We are looking for someone who has built and run self-hosted infrastructure end-to-end, not only consumed managed cloud services.

Essential skills:

- Strong production administration of BOTH Windows Server and Linux.
- Self-hosted infrastructure experience: web servers (IIS, Nginx or Apache), load balancing, DNS, SSL/TLS certificates.
- Strong in at least one scripting language like PowerShell, Bash or Python.
- Designing, implementing and administering CI/CD pipelines like Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar.
- Working experience with at least one cloud platform like AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Experience with Self-hosted infrastructure.
- Valuable understanding of Git fundamentals like branching, merging, code review workflows.
- Production database operations in SQL Server, MySQL or PostgreSQL: backups, restores, monitoring, basic performance work.
- Monitoring, alerting and logging using tools like Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, etc.
- Production incident management, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Desirable Skills:

- Experience with .NET / .NET Core application builds and deployment.




- AWS services and architecture.
- Containers (Docker) and orchestration.
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Caching and messaging (Redis, Memcached, RabbitMQ or Kafka).
- Front-end build tooling (Node/Angular builds).

Principal accountabilities and responsibilities:

- Own the reliability, security and performance of production infrastructure.
- Design, implement and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and routine operations.
- Lead troubleshooting of infrastructure, deployment and configuration issues; run root cause analysis after incidents.
- Own backup, recovery and disaster-recovery processes; test them regularly.
- Carry out vulnerability assessment, patching and security hardening.
- Capacity planning and cost awareness across environments.
- Mentor and develop mid-level engineers on the team.
- Report progress and risks clearly to management.

Other requirements:

- Participation in an on-call rota for production incidents (shared across the team).
- Occasional planned out-of-hours maintenance windows.
