Job Title: Back-end Software Development Engineering Engineer III

Location: Chennai

Work Type: Hybrid (4 Days work From Office)

Position Description:

- We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our team supporting critical GCP projects, where we are migrating and decoupling business-critical systems (including legacy mainframe-fed data) onto modern, cloud-native infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- This is a hands-on senior role for someone who thrives on solving real architectural and data-integrity challenges - not just writing code, but owning the design, performance, and reliability of the systems they build.
- Youll work across the full stack - from Java/Spring Boot backend services and Angular front ends to PostgreSQL data design, to orchestrating mainframe-to-cloud data pipelines with Apache Airflow.

Additional Information :

- Build and maintain Java (Spring Boot) microservices supporting enterprise framework, ensuring clean architecture,



scalability, and maintainability.
- Build and maintain Angular front-end applications that consume backend APIs, with attention to performance, state management, and user experience for business-critical reporting and workflow tools.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and indexing strategies to support both transactional workloads and high-volume batch data loads (including diagnosing and resolving performance issues such as query plan regressions, stale statistics, and index bloat).
- Develop and maintain Apache Airflow DAGs to orchestrate data pipelines moving data from mainframe systems into PostgreSQL (Cloud SQL), including file-arrival validation, data quality checks, idempotent load patterns, and failure recovery.
- Architect and implement solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging services such as Cloud SQL, Cloud Run/GKE, Cloud Storage, and IAM for secure, scalable deployments.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (business stakeholders, mainframe/legacy system owners, QA, other IT teams) to plan and execute system separations with minimal business disruption.
- Lead environment promotion activities (Dev UAT Prod), ensuring configuration is portable and deployments are automated via CI/CD (e.g., Cloud Build, GitHub Actions).
- Proactively identify risks in existing applications and drive remediation.
- Write clean, well-tested code (unit and integration tests) and participate actively in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural decision-making.
- Mentor junior/mid-level engineers and contribute to raising the technical bar across the team. Support UAT and production troubleshooting, including root-cause analysis of data or performance issues across the Java, PostgreSQL, and Airflow layers.
