Role Description

This remote Writing Intern role is an internship position focused on supporting the editorial and content teams at Times of Dubai. On a day-to-day basis, the intern will research story ideas, draft and refine articles, and assist in producing web-ready content across news, business, lifestyle, and other sections.

Responsibilities include fact-checking, aligning content with editorial guidelines, adapting writing for digital formats, and incorporating feedback from editors. The intern may also help with headline writing, basic content formatting, and occasional social copy to support publishing and audience engagement.



This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in digital journalism and content creation.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Writing skills, including clear, concise, and engaging prose suitable for online audiences.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with editors and respond constructively to feedback.
- Candidates should possess Web Content Writing skills, with an understanding of digital readership, basic SEO awareness, and online formatting.
- Candidates should possess solid Research skills to gather information from credible sources, verify facts, and support accurate reporting.
- Candidates should possess Creative Writing skills to develop compelling story angles, engaging headlines, and reader-focused narratives.
- Strong command of written English, with attention to grammar, style, and detail.
- Interest in news, current affairs, and topics related to Dubai, the UAE, and the Middle East.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
- Enrollment in or recent completion of a program in Journalism, Communications, Media, English, or a related field is an advantage.
- Basic familiarity with online publishing tools or content management systems is beneficial.
