About the Role

As VP of Engineering for Platform, you will own the technical direction and delivery of the AIXBI™ Data Intelligence Platform — the data foundation, the analytics engine, and the generative AI layer that sits on top. You will lead the Hyderabad engineering organization and be the person who turns our Reporting-to-Intelligence strategy into shipped software our customers rely on every day.

This is a builder role. You will inherit a proven analytics business with a large customer footprint, and your job is to scale the platform and the team as we move from a BI vendor to an AI-native Data Intelligence company.

What You Will Do

Platform and Acrchitecture

- Own the end-to-end architecture of AIXBI™ — data ingestion, unified data model, semantic layer, query engine, pre-built content, and the generative AI layer.
- Own the connector and extraction strategy across the hybrid enterprise — Oracle E-Business Suite on-premise, Oracle Fusion, and HCM SaaS (Workday, UKG, Taleo, ADP).
- Drive our OCI-first cloud strategy — reference architecture, cost efficiency, multi-region reliability, and OCI Marketplace readiness.
- Bring the AI-native experience to life: embedded conversational analytics, natural-language-to-data, agentic workflows, evaluations, and guardrails that keep quality high in production.
- Set the standard for engineering craft — code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, performance, and security.
- Ensure the platform meets enterprise security and compliance requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, and customer-specific controls).

People and Organisation

- Build, mentor, and scale the Hyderabad engineering organization across platform, data, AI/ML, connectors, and application teams.
- Recruit senior talent — staff and principal engineers, engineering managers, and directors — and create the conditions where they do their best work.




- Design the org for speed and quality: team topology, career ladders, performance management, and a culture of ownership.
- Partner closely with the US-based product, GTM, and executive teams across time zones.

Delivery and Operations

- Own release cadence, on-call, and 24x7 production reliability with explicit SLOs across cloud and hybrid customer deployments.
- Set and hit quarterly delivery commitments; run rigorous planning and prioritization with the VP of Product.
- Manage the engineering budget and vendor portfolio; make build-versus-buy calls that hold up under scrutiny.

Customer and Market

- Represent engineering to strategic customers, partners, and prospects; participate in large deals when it matters.
- Deepen the Oracle partnership — OCI, Fusion, and EBS ecosystem — and represent SplashBI in joint technical forums.
- Feed customer signal directly into the roadmap and act on it fast.

What You Bring

Must-have Experience

- 15+ years in software engineering with 7+ years in engineering leadership; 3+ years as a VP, SVP, or Head of Engineering at a SaaS or platform company.
- Proven track record scaling engineering teams to 100+ engineers without losing velocity or quality.
- Deep hands-on background in data platforms — data warehouses, data lakes, ETL/ELT, streaming, and distributed query engines.
- Direct experience shipping generative AI features to production — LLMs, RAG, agentic systems, prompt design, fine-tuning, evaluations, and guardrails.




- Strong grasp of the modern AI stack — vector databases, embeddings, orchestration frameworks, model serving, and inference cost management.
- Built and operated multi-tenant SaaS platforms with real enterprise customers at scale.
- Track record of delivering enterprise-grade security, compliance, and reliability.

Strongly Preferred

- Deep familiarity with the Oracle ecosystem — Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Fusion, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Oracle BI/Analytics.
- Experience building or integrating with HCM SaaS platforms — Workday, UKG, Taleo, ADP, SAP SuccessFactors.
- Prior experience at a BI, analytics, or data platform company — SplashBI competitors and peers such as ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Sigma, MicroStrategy, Qlik, Visier, One Model, Alation, or dbt Labs.
- Experience running an engineering centre of excellence in India that supports a global customer base.
- Experience partnering with private equity or growth investors on a value creation plan.

Education

- BE, BTech, MS in Computer Science, or a related engineering field; equivalent experience is welcome.
