The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Vision Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in the battery manufacturing industry. The candidate will be responsible for designing, development, implementation and maintaining vision systems for automate inspection, measurement, and quality control in battery production processes The ideal candidate will have a passion for automation and machine vision, with a strong background in engineering and hands-on experience with vision system integration in a manufacturing environment.

Engineer will be proactive, collaborative, and capable of solving complex technical challenges while maintaining a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

- Design & Development of Vision Systems: Lead the design, development, and deployment of vision systems to automate inspection, measurement, and quality control in battery production processes.
- System Integration & Optimization: Integrate vision systems with existing manufacturing processes, including robotics and automated production lines, ensuring smooth functionality and improved performance.
- Image Processing & Algorithm Development: Develop and implement image processing algorithms and vision inspection applications using tools such as Keyence, Cognex, OpenCV, C++, and MATLAB to detect defects,



measure components, and support automated decision-making.
- Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with engineering, quality control, and production teams to ensure vision systems meet production requirements and contribute to process improvements.
- System Calibration & Maintenance: Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain vision systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability throughout the production cycle.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for the enhancement of vision systems, proposing and implementing solutions to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce downtime, and improve product quality.
- Data Collection & Reporting: Monitor the performance of vision systems and analyze production data, providing detailed reports and recommendations for further optimization.
- Documentation & Training: Develop clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and system specifications. Provide training to operators and team members on vision system usage and maintenance.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure vision systems are deployed in line with industry safety standards, operational guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

- Technical Expertise in Vision Systems: Extensive knowledge of machine vision technologies, including camera systems, lighting, optics,



image processing, and industrial vision platforms such as Keyence, Cognex, HALCON, OpenCV, and MATLAB.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and familiarity with machine learning libraries for vision system applications.
- Manufacturing Experience: Experience in integrating vision systems into automated manufacturing environments, ideally in high-precision industries such as battery production or electronics.
- Calibration & Measurement System Analysis (MSA): Experience in vision system calibration, validation, and execution of MSA studies (including MSA1 and MSA3/GR&R;) to ensure measurement accuracy and inspection system performance.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to ensure that vision systems function as intended and address challenges quickly.
- Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, with explicit communication skills to liaise between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 Technologies: Familiarity with smart manufacturing solutions, IoT, and AI-driven vision technologies is a plus.

Role Specific Qualifications/Certifications

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Vision, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field 5+years of work experience.
- Strong knowledge of machine vision systems and hands-on experience with platforms such as Cognex, Keyence, SICK, or similar.
- Experience in manufacturing environments or automated inspection systems is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications in vision systems is a plus.
