Description

Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments. Administer Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, and later versions. Perform server provisioning, decommissioning, and upgrades. Monitor server performance, availability, and capacity. Manage Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).

Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments.
- Administer Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, and later versions.
- Perform server provisioning, decommissioning, and upgrades.
- Monitor server performance, availability, and capacity.
- Manage Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
- Manage Users, Groups, Organizational Units (OUs), and Group Policies (GPOs).
- Manage DNS, DHCP, and domain controller operations.
- Perform AD health checks and replication monitoring.
- Ensure high availability and business continuity of server infrastructure.
- Manage server incidents, problem management, and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Participate in change management activities.
- Monitor system availability and respond to outages.
- Perform monthly and emergency patching of Windows Servers.
- Remediate vulnerabilities identified through security scans.
- Implement server hardening and security best practices.
- Support compliance and audit requirements.
- Manage VMware vSphere infrastructure including ESXi, vCenter, HA, and DRS.
- Perform VM provisioning, migration, and optimization.
- Support Azure IaaS virtual machines and hybrid infrastructure.
- Execute P2V and V2V migration activities.
- Configure and monitor backup solutions.
- Perform restore testing and disaster recovery exercises.




- Maintain recovery documentation and procedures.
- Create and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell.
- Automate routine administrative tasks.
- Develop operational procedures and technical documentation.
- Plan and execute server migration projects.
- Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives.
- Coordinate with application, network, security, and cloud teams.
- Validate server functionality following migration activities.
- Lead end-to-end file server migration projects across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Perform file server assessments, including data sizing, growth analysis, permissions review, and dependency mapping.
- Design migration strategies using Lift & Shift, Azure File Sync, DFS Replication, Robocopy, ShareGate, or third-party migration tools.
- Plan and execute migrations from legacy file servers to contemporary storage platforms, Azure Files, NAS, or cloud-based repositories.
- Analyze and preserve NTFS permissions, ACLs, ownership, auditing settings, and inheritance structures during migrations.
- Configure and manage DFS Namespace (DFSN) and DFS Replication (DFSR)

Requirements

- 8+ years of experience in Windows Server administration.
- Proven experience in server migration, storage management, and Azure Active Directory administration.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, and later versions.
- Experience with PowerShell, Azure IaaS, VMware vSphere, Azure File Sync, and DFS Replication.
- Ability to design and implement migration strategies using Lift & Shift, Azure File Sync, DFS Replication, Robocopy, ShareGate, or third-party migration tools.
- Experience with file server assessments, including data sizing, growth analysis, permissions review, and dependency mapping.
- Ability to analyze and preserve NTFS permissions, ACLs, ownership, auditing settings, and inheritance structures during migrations.
- Experience with DFS Namespace (DFSN) and DFS Replication (DFSR) configuration and management.
