Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool Room Engineer to oversee the design, development, maintenance, and repair of our manufacturing tools, dies, molds, jigs,

and fixtures. In this role, you will ensure all tooling meets strict quality standards, assemble and dissemble of moulds, blue matching upto successful T0 and T1 trials, supports continuous production, and minimizes manufacturing downtime. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in CAD design and machining with practical troubleshooting skills on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

- Tooling Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures to maximize tool life and prevent production delays.
- Design & Modification: Read, interpret, and modify detailed 2D/3D blueprints and technical drawings using CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to improve tool performance.
- Machining & Fabrication: Safely operate conventional mills, grinders, to fabricate or modify precision parts.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose root causes of tooling failures or component defects on the production line and implement permanent engineering solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect incoming and refurbished tooling components using precision instruments (micrometers,



vernier calipers, CMM) to ensure exact compliance with tolerance specifications.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and manage the inventory of spare parts, inserts, and raw tool steels to ensure rapid response to breakdown situations.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in Kaizen and 5S initiatives to optimize tool room workflows, reduce setup times, and improve safety standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering,

Tool Design, or an Associate degree with equivalent hands-on experience in technical field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of proven experience working as a Tool Room Engineer or

Tool & Die Maker in a manufacturing environment.
- Software: Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam,

or similar).
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and

Tolerancing (GD&T;), metallurgy, and tool heat treatment processes.
- Machining Skills: Hands-on experience operating tool room machinery and working with CNC/EDM programming is highly desirable.
- Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot complex tooling and mechanical issues under tight production deadlines
