Role Description As a Thumbnail Designer Intern at YOUTH EXPRESS NEWS, you will create eye-catching thumbnails for digital news content, including videos and social media posts. You will work on-site in Srinagar, collaborating with editors, reporters, and social media teams to interpret story themes and translate them into engaging visual designs. Day-to-day tasks include selecting images, designing layouts, applying typography, and ensuring consistent branding across platforms.

You will assist in testing different thumbnail concepts to improve click-through and audience engagement, while learning best practices for visual storytelling in news media.



This is an internship role designed to provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and portfolio-building opportunities.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess robust visual design skills, including basic knowledge of composition, color theory, and typography.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with graphic design or image-editing tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar software).
- Candidates should possess an understanding of digital media and social platforms, with interest in how thumbnails influence audience engagement.
- Candidates should possess attention to detail and the ability to follow brand guidelines while contributing creative ideas.
- Candidates should possess good communication and collaboration skills, with readiness to receive feedback and iterate quickly.
- Enrollment in or completion of a course in design, media, visual communication, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
- Previous portfolio work (academic, personal, or freelance) showing visual creativity and basic design capability is highly valued.
