Principal Architect – Hardware

nThe Principal Architect – Hardware is responsible for the design and development of service platforms and products that enable effective troubleshooting, maintenance, and diagnostics of advanced industrial products.

nThis is a contractor position, part of the Digital Technology & Service Innovation team, located in office in Bangalore, India, with an immediate join date.

nKey Responsibilities

- Lead hardware architecture activities for bioprocessing upstream and downstream system projects, defining system architectures, guiding design reviews, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
n
- Provide technical leadership while collaborating with global, cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, embedded, and systems engineering, to drive successful product development, launch, and long-term sustainment.

- Lead and facilitate Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) activities, identifying technical risks and driving robust mitigation plans at the system and component levels.
n
- Define system-level hardware architecture, including electronics, sensors, controls, power distribution, communication interfaces, and subsystem integration.
n




- Develop hardware project roadmaps aligned with business and product objectives.
n
- Mentor engineering teams and establish hardware design best practices, standards, and architectural governance.

nEssential Requirements

n

n
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
n
- 15+ years of experience in hardware development, systems engineering, and product development.
n
- Demonstrated experience as a Principal Architect, Hardware Architect, Technical Lead, or equivalent senior engineering leadership role.
n
- Experience with hardware integration across mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software subsystems.
n
- Strong understanding of product development processes, including requirements development, design reviews, verification, validation, and change control activities.

nGood to Have

- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
n
- Experience with bioprocessing, life sciences instrumentation, medical devices, laboratory, or industrial equipment.
n
- Familiarity with cybersecurity protocols.
