Role Purpose

The Packaging Development role will lead the development and commercialization of cutting-edge, consumer-centric, sustainable, and technically robust packaging solutions.

Experience range - 1 to 10 years.

Key Responsibilities

n

Packaging Development & Technical Excellence

n

n
- Lead packaging development from concept through prototyping, validation, scale-up, and commercialization.
n
- Develop robust packaging specifications covering materials, dimensions, performance, functionality, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
n
- Apply Quality by Design (QbD) principles to identify critical requirements, risks, and controls early in development.
n
- Drive packaging performance testing, trials, validation, and technical problem solving.
n

n

Consumer-Centric & Design-Led Innovation

n

n
- Translate consumer needs, insights, trends, and behaviors into innovative packaging solutions.
n
- Partner with Marketing, Consumer Insights, R&D;, and Design teams to develop differentiated packaging concepts.
n
- Apply design-led approaches to improve usability, convenience, aesthetics, functionality, and overall consumer experience.
n
- Leverage consumer research and testing to validate packaging concepts and optimize solutions.
n

Digital & E-Commerce Validation

n

n
- Integrate digital-first validation into packaging development to accelerate learning and decision-making.
n
- Conduct e-commerce simulation to evaluate packaging visibility, communication, differentiation, protection, and consumer experience in digital channels.
n
- Leverage digital prototyping, virtual testing, and other emerging tools to reduce development timelines and physical iterations.
n

Quality, Regulatory & Compliance

n

- Ensure packaging solutions meet applicable regulatory, safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
n
- Establish appropriate technical testing and validation protocols.
n
- Identify and mitigate packaging risks throughout development and commercialization.
n
- Maintain robust technical documentation, specifications, and change controls.
n

Supplier Development & Qualification

n

n
- Partner with Procurement and suppliers to identify new materials, technologies, and packaging capabilities.
n
- Lead technical supplier evaluation, qualification, trials, and capability assessments.
n
- Ensure suppliers can consistently deliver packaging to required specifications, quality, cost, and scale.
n
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues during development and industrialization.
n

Sustainability

n

n
- Embed sustainability into packaging development and design decisions from the outset.
n
- Conduct sustainability assessments across materials, formats, recyclability, material efficiency, waste reduction, and lifecycle considerations.
n
- Identify opportunities to reduce packaging impact while maintaining product protection, quality, functionality, and consumer appeal.
n
- Support delivery against organizational packaging sustainability goals and evolving regulatory requirements.
n

Speed & Commercial Execution

n

n
- Drive agile development processes to improve speed to market without compromising quality.
n
- Balance consumer desirability, technical feasibility, cost, sustainability, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing scalability.
n
- Manage multiple packaging development projects and ensure timely delivery of key milestones.
n
- Lead effective cross-functional collaboration from innovation through commercialization.
