Responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and timely delivery of technical spares, machinery parts, consumables, and services required for the safe and productive operation and maintenance of vessels managed by the company.

Key Responsibilities

- Receive and review purchase requisitions from vessels and the technical department.

- Source technical spares, machinery parts, equipment, tools, consumables, and services from approved and reliable suppliers.

- Obtain and compare quotations based on price, quality, delivery time, technical specifications, and payment terms.

- Prepare purchase orders and ensure accurate specifications, quantities, delivery locations, and required delivery dates.

- Coordinate with vessel Masters, Chief Engineers, Superintendents, and suppliers regarding technical requirements.

- Ensure procurement is carried out in accordance with company purchasing procedures and approved vendor policies.

- Follow up closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of urgent and routine vessel requirements.

- Coordinate deliveries to vessels, ports, warehouses, and shipyards as required.

- Verify supplier documentation, including quotations, invoices, delivery notes, certificates, and technical documentation.





- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, quotations, supplier communications, and delivery status.

- Monitor outstanding and overdue purchase orders and take corrective action where necessary.

- Support the technical department during dry-docking, repairs, maintenance projects, and vessel inspections.

- Identify alternative suppliers and equivalent products where appropriate, subject to technical approval.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with ship chandlers, manufacturers, OEMs, service providers, and other marine suppliers.

- Negotiate commercial terms and seek cost-effective procurement without compromising technical requirements or vessel safety.

- Assist with supplier evaluation, performance monitoring, and periodic vendor reviews.

- Coordinate with accounts/finance teams regarding invoices, discrepancies, and payment-related issues.

- Ensure compliance with company procedures, applicable maritime requirements, and procurement controls.

- Handle urgent/emergency procurement requirements for vessels operating worldwide and across different time zones.
